ACLU Takes Up Cause of Due Process In Child Support

News Luek sent us this article and writes "In Lawrence County, Pennsylvania the ACLU got 37 men out of the child support prison gulag. They reasoned correctly that anyone arrested and threatened with imprisonment is entitled to free legal counsel if they can't afford it and due legal process. Just because you are a male you still can't be treated like a piece of property by the iron heeled state tyrants." This could be a very important breakthrough if this kind of legal case is made in other regions. The ACLU has been lukewarm or completely apathetic to certain men's issues (ie, male reproductive rights) in the past, but this could be a way of getting our "foot in the door" and might lead to the ACLU being more open to men's rights issues. Let's hope for the best.

"Our culture?" Does he mean our culture which expects males to tolerate extensive verbal and phyhsical harassment and even beatings, being matched against each other like fighting roosters, and to submit to selective military conscription-- non of which applies to women-- without protest, and labels them as inferior and deviant if they do, even to the extent of demanding simple equal protection under the law?
Does he mean our culture which exploits male ability whenever suitable while supressing their true sexual and other natures which make this possible?
Does he mean a society in which men are expected to sacrifice their own best interest for women, even if this involves tolerating physical abuse?
Then I fully agree.
If he means a society in which males are priveleged just for being males, and allowed to get away with murder, then I think he's just speaking as a spoiled athlete and celebrity rather than as a man.

To me, getting help from the ACLU is a lot like eating a cookie that's been dropped on a dirty floor. No matter how much you brush it off, you still get the feeling that there's something about it that's not good for you.

So if you were drowning, and they tossed you a life preserver, would you toss it back?
