NFL Helping to Promote Prostate Cancer Awareness

Men's Health napnip sent me a link to this PDF document which announces that the National Football League is promoting prostate cancer awareness this month, particularly during Prostate Cancer Awareness Week (Sept. 15-21). As David Crawford, the founder of the Prostate Cancer Educational Council said, "There could be no better partner for reaching our target audience." Keep an eye out for players talking about this issue during this month. If you haven't already, also check out the PCAW web site.

I note that the majority of the members of the Prostate Cancer Awareness Council are doctors, who have a vested economic interest in increased treatment of prostate cancer. I don't necessarily judge this fact; I just wish to point it out. Certainly all men have a vested SURVIVAL interest in increased detection and treatment of prostate cancer.

Gonzo Writes:

Sometimes I take great pleasure in saying "I told you so." This is NOT one of those times. Would that I could take great pleasure in being wrong.

God, but it's predictable, though, isn't it? We don't need to be the Amazing Kreskin to see such a royal slipping of the meat, do we? Water it down, dilute it, put pheminists and pheminist sympathizers on it - until the "Men's Commission" becomes a self-flagellating Angst Group, utterly feminized and determined to make me "aware" of their "evil natures." What offerings can we look to? Seminars such as "Domestic Abuse: The Problem is YOU?" "Write the Check and Shut the Fuck up: Pay Women what you owe them?"

Gah!

Politicians. The System. More empty promises. Yet another rug snatched out from under us. It's sad, but the only suprise is that anyone is still suprised.

Hey Gonz, I think you missed. This should be up one thread, shouldn't it?

I am really glad to hear this news.
I said this once before; The main stream media is NOT going to say much or ANYTHING about "Prostate cancer awareness month".
This despite the fact that at least AS MANY men die of prostate cancer as women die of breast cancer. Yet we hear reports on breast cancer on a near DAILY basis. NOTHING to speak of on prostate cancer.
No, the media WILL definately bury any thing on prostate cancer awareness month, and ANYTHING else that benifits men, emotionaly, spiritualy, psycologicaly, physicaly or mentaly.
I'm GLAD some one is going to slip it in under the noses of a VERY anti-male media.
KUDOS to the NFL!!
