Governor Grants Parole to Husband-Murderer

News This article on Fox News is--once again--proof that there are different standards for men and women in the justice system. Gov. Gray Davis has granted parole to Cheryl Sellers based on the parole board's findings that she "suffered from battered woman syndrome," the convenient illness which routinely absolves women of murder. Davis said a threat the man had made against Seller's daughter sparked the violence. His decision means Sellers will be released in September 2003, the date set by the board. One wonders if men would be given the same consideration.

I would doubt very seriously if a man who killed his wife or girlfriend in any state in the US or province of Canada has ever been given an early parole or a pardon under the pretext of suffering abuse or justified self-defense. Such a thing just isn't done.

If there is such a case, I would like to know about it and will happily stand corrected.

This too often practise of granting early parole or out and out pardons to convicted by a jury of their peers husband killers on the pretext of the "battered wife syndrome abuse excuse" is just a political payoff and or pandering to the femmunists block vote by politicians. It also puts men everywhere in danger since it makes the general impression that a woman can kill an inconvenient husband or boyfriend and get away with it by playing the get out of jail for free abuse card.

This is the political pandering to femmunism that is making a mockery of our already degraded judicial system.

I don't live in California, so I don;t really know how popular Gray-Out Davis is, though I know he's in some deep water over the energy thing. But I do believe the men's movement is as well represented in California as it is anywhere. So I ask you CA residents this: Do you think you can force this issue to the surface and make it an issue in the campaign? Glenn? Marc? Others? Is the Al Rantel Show a possible launch point?

I dunno. Just a thought. Half-baked maybe. Never mind.
