One Father's Struggle for Custody Despite False Accusations

Divorce Ron Herbert writes "This article looks at the plight of a BC man who was finally awarded custody of his daughter, although he had to spend years dealing with the courts and a vindictive ex-wife. Although I'm glad he has been reunited with his child, I'm convinced that if a father had made false allegations against his ex-wife and violated court orders, he wouldn't have evaded [consequences]."

Judge "Almost" Got Tough With Female Criminal (Score:1)

The judge in this case, B.C. Supreme Court Justice Robert Edwards, decided not to send Nancy Jean Strobel to jail for gross contempt because it would further traumatize the little girl because her 3 year old brother recently died.

You can just bet if the little brother had not died, this judge would have found some other excuse to not jail the mother.

And you can also bet your boots that if the man had committed contempt on just half the level this woman did he would be in jail today.

But I am glad the man got custody of the daughter. Regardless of the number of legal fiery hoops he had to jump through. Maybe misandrous attitudes in family law are slowly but surely falling away up there in Canada.
