Fathers Can Raise School Performance of Children

Fatherhood dominic7 sent us this BBC article and writes "[This is] interesting. It's frustrating to keep on seeing study after study prove that the inclusion of fathers in their children's upbringing is important, yet see these studies ignored by the "powers that be"." One notable thing about this article is that it also acknowledged that even divorced dads have an important impact on their children's educational success, something I wish many family court judges would take note of.

Whoa!

So what they figured out over fourty years, is that having a strong father who actually does some Parenting is helpful to children? Helps them to be well-adjusted? Less criminal?

What a Novel Concept!

I'm glad science has finally realized it. Maybe now more children will get to see their fathers. Perhaps some of those fathers who do get to see their children will actually take advantage of the situation, as well.

All in all, one thing to say- It's a great thing that some fathers had already made the connection and done the job for years before. Applause must also go out to those who designed that campaign to get other fathers involved.

Women aren't better than men. Men aren't better than women. We're just different. Deal.

I like your posts. You seem to have good sense and a wry sense of humor. Both good things in a person.
