Trident Gum castration campaign

SJones writes "Trident Gum has been running an ad featuring two men being castrated by a squirrel which runs up their pant leg and bites their testicles while they scream. Trident's CONTACT link on their web page is not working so they will have to be contacted by other means to complain. But please do complain. Meanwhile, there is a web site that rates ads and has the Trident ad, which you can click on and watch before voting your opinion. The link to the site with the ad is here and so far has rated the ad highly. But only 14 people, including myself, have voted. Only a few of us can bring the rating down closer to where it belongs for using gender-specific sexual violence to sell gum. Please vote and remember this web site next time an ad is run featuring sexual abuse of males to sell a product (and you can be sure there will be a next time, unfortunately.)"

CA - Incorrect Default Paternity Judgments

warble writes "As everybody knows, anytime that men's activist try to bring fairness to paternity law we get overwhelming opposition, and as predicted the opponents of paternity fraud legislation are opposing SB1030 in California in big numbers. Currently, there are only two letters of support in Senator Ashburn's office for SB1030. Therefore, we need every person on this forum to send in letters and faxes. Do not send emails or make phone calls. They will not work. This must be in writing. Here is a sample letter: Click Read More/Post Comments

Replace "Failed" Institution of Marriage?

"Practice" doesn't make perfect...,

Thundercloud. writes "Any body a loyal viewer of the TV show "The PRACTICE"?
If you are perhaps you have noticed a rather disturbing trend on this show.
This show, like many others, more and more often is dipicting what I refer to as "Male-bondage" senerios. This is when a man is tied up by a woman or women and is threatened physicaly and sexual inuendos are perpetualy made to the bound man. Often times the woman will hold a gun to the mans genitals or elbow or punch him there while she has him tied.
Any time I have seen "The PRACTICE" this senerio seems to ALWAYS be being played out. I just saw a preview for the show this morning, and sure enough I see yet another woman holding a man captive, gagged and tied to a chair, while she makes sexual comments and kisses him "affectionatly". Anyone who hasn't beleived me that this is a perpetual (and phsycolocicaly damageing) theme on this show (and many others) just watch the episode I'm talking about. It airs on Sunday nights, on ABC. I'm not sure of the time. Don't worry if you miss it. The way this show depicts men, I'm SURE you'll get another opportunity to see an example of what I'm talking about.
Personaly, I think we should make it a PRACTICE to boycott "The PRACTICE". AND let them know this sort of bull $#!t will not be tolerated by men any longer.

Thundercloud."

Woe to Women: Ruined Men

What is with conservatives? Is the only way they see men's issues in how it will help or harm the nearest woman or kid? Reading this article you would be forgiven for thinking so. It's not all bad through, At least she makes an effort to the see things from a man's point of view, If only she could leave the "Women and Children First" mentality behind. Still, everybody's gotta start somewhere I suppose.

Another man free after 19 years in jail

CJ writes "DNA clears another man who was sent to jail based upon false allegations. False allegations have ruined many a mans life, and until the US courts become unbiased and require proof, not the current "she said" evidence, things will always be bad. This is true for domestic violence allegations and sexual crimes. Innocent people have to be protected, otherwise there is no justice. It has become a "witch hunt" for men in the courts of the US. Middlesex MA District Attorney Martha Coakley said "There is not much you can say to someone who has unfortunately been at the wrong end of an imperfect system."

Re-writing the Rules

Freebird writes "This article should be required reading for all those women who endlessly whine "Where are all the decent men??" while harboring their hatred and bitterness against the same. We all should get a few nods and chuckles out of this one. It is good to see more and more people, women no less, waking up to what we have been saying for years. Happy reading!"

MANN Chat: Is Single-sex Education Better for Boys?

I will host this week's MANN chat, Wednesday
night (4/2), starting at 9:30 PM Eastern Time, at the href="http://www.mensactivism.org/chat.shtml">usual location. The
topic for this chat will be "Is Single-sex Education Better for
Boys?"  Recent href="http://www.mensactivism.org/article.pl?sid=03/03/31/2247200&mode=threaded">research
in the UK suggests that boys may learn better in some single-sex
classes.  Advocates for single-sex education argue that it helps
students get better grades, be more confident in class, and improve
their school attendance and behavior.  Opponents of single-sex
education worry that single-sex education deprives boys and girls of
the opportunity to learn how to interact with one another. Got an
opinion about this?  Come to the chat, quaff a cold beverage, and
mouth off.  Hope to see you there.

Nurturing Gold-Digger Socialists?

Now this article is a un-expected one, with a title like this: No shame in women choosing dough over the regular Joe Tina Arndt seems to be saying go for the money over the man, after making the case that most guys can't compete with the welfare state when it comes to women, she even goes on to say "So perhaps it is nurturing instincts that drive women to go for the money. No shame in that." And I thought she was on our side. Can't say I'm surprised.

Does single-sex education help boys to learn better?

This href="http://news.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2003/03/30/ncoed30.xml">article
reports new research in the UK that indicates that single-sex classes in
some subjects may help boys to learn better.  Apparently, the
experimental single-sex classes helped both boys and girls to obtain
better grades, raise their confidence, increase their rates of
attendance, and improve their behavior in school.  While the idea
of single-sex classes and schools is understandably controversial, the
approach seems to have merit.  I was privileged to attend an
all-boys high school, and I must say that the experience is one of the
great treasures of my life.  I hope other students will have the
opportunity at least to explore the benefits of single-sex classes so
that they can perform better in school.

Women And The Vote Part 1

The question in this article posed by Dorothy Anne Seese is Giving Women the Vote:
A mistake that wounded America?
there's alot to comment on here,
and I don't really the room or the time to do so. Oh yeah, have a look around the site to see who runs it, you should get an ironic laugh out of it.
