University of Colorado football coach Gary Barnett has been reprimanded and placed on administrative leave after he had the temerity to speak truthfully about the “awful” level of play of a former U.C. female kicker who has made rape allegations against the team.

“Not only was she a girl, she was terrible. And there’s no other way to say it. She couldn’t kick the ball through the uprights.”

U.C.’s President, Elizabeth Hoffman said "In the context of rape allegations, it is inappropriate to make statements about the ability of the player.”

Apparently U.C. has expanded its already draconian campus “speech code” to now include Thought Crime!

jenk writes "Authorities arrested the mother of a 17-year-old boy after her son saw his picture on a missing children's Web site and discovered that she was accused of abducting him from his father 14 years ago."

The thing that sickens me is that the mother gets sympathy, no one has even mentioned how the father felt or why he got custody in the first place, and the boy is in foster care. I would like to think the father would get him immediately, after the mother stole the last 14 years.

Michael Wright writes "The faux feminists at the University of Oklahoma have found a new cause: "period week" or "menstrual awareness week." The idea is to encourage women "not to be ashamed of their bodies" and to "expel taboos that are part of being a woman."

They are also "reclaiming" something "that's thought of as bad by our society." That's funny. I never thought periods were bad.
But faux feminists have to make everything a confrontation against the "patriarchy." They believe that evil patriarchs have been slandering women for centuries because they have periods. Now it's pay-back time.

They'll have the usual "health experts" addressing this topic. I'll bet you a dollar to a dime they won't tell women what they really need to know about periods, i.e., when they stop happening, beware of hormone replacement therapy. There's a growing body of literature among the truly hip (rather than the pseudo-hip we find in abundance at OU) about the problems of HRT. At OU, they won't be treading on the profit interests of the pharms as they wage their "struggle" against the "patriarchs."

"Research says boys are in trouble on other fronts. They are 15 times as likely as girls to be victims of violent crimes; they commit suicide more often; drop out of high school at four times the rate of adolescent girls; and are more apt to be left behind a grade and diagnosed with attention deficit disorder."

The article also states, "During interviews a couple of years ago when asked whether they liked school, the majority of little girls said yes, while most little boys answered no." Many of those looking into this will probably try to sing and dance around the truth, but the fact is: Feminist teachers and administrators have turned the nation's academy into a viciously hostile environment for men and boys.

The article also states, "It doesn't bode well for society in general. Boys are abandoning ship." Well, if feminism continues to poison all of industrialized society, especially the English speaking nations, then we won't have to worry about this for long. Industrialized society, through the end of birthing, will cease to exist.

The organization in question seeks to push back on the liberal bias that's so apparent in our colleges and universities today. I know there are visitors here who regard themselves as liberal and dismiss the notion of conservatives being better supporters of men's rights, and perhaps that's valid, at least partially. What's useful to note about the postings there (click on the "View Postings" link at the upper left corner) is that there seems to be a large percentage of them complaining about the women's studies programs. I didn't look at all of them, but of the number I did check, I thought that protests against women's studies was inordinately large. I also sent this group an email asking them their position on administration-sponsored claims of "one-in-four women will be raped" to which I have not yet received a reply. I will post it when I get it. If you know anyone in college, you might share this link with them, as I did with my daughter this morning. (No reaction yet from her.)"

TLE writes "I just noticed an ad on the local FOX TV station calling for girls from 8 to 12 to attend a free video film production workshop. The program is called Girlstart and has funding from many sources. The intent is to help ensure girls get good careers in technology. Of course, there is no boystart program. Who cares about them?"

There is also an editorial from the student newspaper commenting on this plan, justifying the feminist idea that "all men are rapists". This is similar to an incident a few years ago when the campus "Men Stopping Rape" group placed urinal splashguards on campus reading “You Hold the Power to Stop Rape in Your Hands.” as well."

frank h writes "Okay, this probably isn't really BIG news, but it is unusual: A woman elected to state office being accused of sexual harassment, by some of her aides. I've always wondered why it is that this and related indiscretions by men are big news, while women who stray across the line are given a pass. Have any of you wondered when a woman elected to office was going to have an affair exposed by the media? (Don't believe for a minute they don't happen!)"

It's certainly possible for someone to be oversensitive about what they perceive as sexual harassment. Nevertheless, I'm sure harassment can be severe enough create a horrible, untenable situation for the target. This article highlights the fact that we need to bear a few things in mind. Men are often considered far more likely than women to cheat in relationships, despite the fact that every survey and study I've seen for the last few years (sorry, I don't have links handy) has indicated that women are at least as likely to cheat. Men are generally considered far more likely than women to commit domestic violence, despite the fact that studies consistently show that women commit at least as much DV against men as men do against women, women initiate the domestic violence more often than men do, and women commit most DV against children.

I wouldn't doubt that, if the truth ever comes out about sexual harassment in and out of the workplace, we'll find that women commit at least as much as men.

Yep, It's a good one. I would advise you to keep a very close eye on folk like Michael Moore for the simple reason that as the winds of change blow our way, people like him will try to double back on what they said, and get all man friendly and the like. Of course, we won't fall for that will we?
