Alternative Sentencing Urged for Women in High-Incarceration States
posted by Matt on 01:12 PM May 21st, 2006
Inequality bull writes "Oklahoma, Mississippi and the Mountain states have set the pace in increasing the imprisonment of women, while several Northeastern states are curtailing the practice, according to a new report detailing sharp regional differences in the handling of female offenders. Rest of the story here. A telling excerpt:

'Ann Jacobs, executive director of the Women's Prison Association, said states with high rates of women behind bars should look closely at alternative sentencing, particularly mandatory treatment as an option for drug offenders.'"

It’s interesting to note which states have the least number of women imprisoned per capital. Could it be that women in northeastern states like Massachusetts are less likely to commit crime, or, is the disease of “radical” feminism firmly entrenched in the politics, media, academia, and courts in these states making it less likely that a woman will be held accountable for her dastardly deeds? P.S. Their source of the statistics, the department of justice, is credible; however, this site is littered with feminist think undertones.

I recently visited my brother, who lives near Tucson, AZ. He and his wife both have been working for the Arizona Department of Corrections for many years.
They told me that, WOMEN PRISONERS ARE MORE VIOLENT THAN MEN PRISONERS. (Those are their exact words).
So why do all the TV shows on prison violence only show mens' prisons??

Womens groups that have been in existance since the beginning of the feminism push are still using their connections and "power" to try and ensure more Humane treatment for Women that have "gone astray". The only problem I can see with this is that they haven't included the Men that are being treated with less than Humane treatment as well. "Man Power!" Or perhaps we should just go for EQUALITY? Or what about not having the most People in prison in the entire world?
