UN Report Cites Russian Men in Crisis
posted by Matt on 09:48 PM October 17th, 2005
Men's Health Well it's nice to see a UN report that isn't all about women. But it comes at such a terrible price. Read about it here.

From the article:
"Stereotypes of men's behaviour in Russia include excess alcohol consumption, drug addiction and smoking as stress reduction measures and ways of demonstrating manhood. Growth of suicides among men is an extreme form of reaction to growing socio-economic pressure and inability to perform the traditional role of breadwinner," the statement said.

Wow.
It would be nice if the U.N. also recognised that American Indian men suffer from nearly the EXACT kind of stereotypes.
But they won't. Indian men do not exist as far as the U.N. is concerned...
Even Indian WOMEN barely show up on the U.N.'s radar.

  Thundercloud.

..specifically among young men, which is compulsury military service under often downright inhuman circumstances including malnourishment and violent abuse.
