Sex, Father Both Optional

	MANN received a submission from Evil White Male Oppressor pointing out this story entitled "Women bypass sex in favour of 'instant pregnancies'" from the BBC website. Side-linked from it was this one entitled "Doctors may disregard 'need for a father' when deciding on IVF". From that story I followed this one entitled "Ban on sex selection could be lifted". 	He mentioned that it seemed a lot of these stories were coming from England and we should look to them as warnings of things to come here in the US. Sort of reminds me of Orwell's 1984 and how it was set in England, too. But a trend toward factory-like pro-single-parent production of new people scares me even more than the notion of a Big Brother state. Two such scenarios at the same time is almost unthinkable, but then again, so were two Category 5 hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico within a month of each other -- and unfortunately, that did happen.

Yuppie couples too busy for actual sex prefer in vitro fertilization for its convenience and efficiency, while lesbians want IVF because it's their inalienable "right" to add fatherless kids to their post-modern families. Scientists want to implant human embryos into animals in order to advance stem-cell research. Lawyers anticipate big bucks when broken-up couples go to court over who has the custody of frozen embryos. Selecting the sex of your children is expected to become as common as picking out the color of your handbag. Let's face it --- sex is just a business, and the really big money will not be in pornography in the future --- it will be in the commercialization of human reproduction and all the "designer options" that will be marketed as lifestyle choices. Eventually there will be a Eugenics department at Wal-Mart... bet on it. (roy)

I told one of my patients who is going through IVF that another IVF patient had just conceived naturally. She said: 'What? She's having sex? Bloody Luddite'." This is sums it up perfectly. I think they should ban bloody IVF. It’s disgusting. If anyone is too busy chasing their careers then they should pay the price. Heck what happens to the baby after he/she is born: does it get looked after by the mother or some nurse. Should only be used on couples with actual fertility problems. Selecting your babies Gender.. What the Heck? What possible advantages can it have? (Gods) Nature has a way of balancing out. Only humans can manage to screw themselves over. Another thing it is men that keep this thing going: Why the heck do they give sperm donations.. sick deluded men.

(Score:2) by ArtflDgr on 08:14 PM September 25th, 2005 EST (#3) I was just sitting and reading and thinking... and it dawned on me why SETI has found nothing. zip, nada... you see, a species develops... it evolves... till it has something higher than whatever the fuck happens happens... its called police... once there is police, then the physically disenfranchised try to balance a score that was never out of balance in the first place (the books were never level to start with). eventually feminism comes right after police.. revisionist history... loss of all those memes from the past...you know... like how to raise a kid.. crime shoots up.. (single parent homes), desease shoots up (women having so much liberating sex), men stop working (why bother? you only need to support yourself), on and on... then, blip.. were gone... damn.. only 200 years of "superior" culture built on top of 10,000 years of superior family structure, on top of 200k years of speciation... gone.. in less than 100 years.. all because women dont want to be women!!!! that they hate themselves so much that they hate what the world has in store from them from their conception.... i cant imagine such deep inner self loathing.
