Hairdressers to be trained to report men for DV
posted by Adam on 09:44 AM July 24th, 2004
Domestic Violence Doctor Damage writes "This article really speaks for itself. My astonishment and outrage at the undisguised hatred that exudes from the people being quoted is exceeded only by my surprise that I can still be shocked and outraged by this stuff. Fortunately, Hairdressing salons have so far been reluctant to participate in being trained to recognise a man who drives his partner to the salon as abusive."

Look at the signs of abuse the shelters tell the hairdressers to be on the lookout for. They're riddiculous. The best part is the newspaper is quoting the "DV Advocates". They say they help men, but, ummm, what "male businesses" did they target to spread the word that if a man was abused he could get some help. NADA!

This should say it all:
for instance, driving a wife or girlfriend to the salon too often.

"It could be very innocent. But if a husband or boyfriend is at every single hair appointment, that could be a huge warning sign of domestic violence," Amigone said.

And this is the BEST they could come up with?!?! Can you say "GETTING DESPERATE" for more funding?!

What a crock.

The concept that you can surveil men's innocent behaviors and "suspect" and/or predict domestic violence is a neat little spin-off from the core feminist domestic violence theories.

Feminism approaches DV solely through its gender-fascist ideology, seeing all intimate partner conflict as men's use of patriarchal "power and control."

All female violence is denied, as is 95% of social science and what is known about the dimensions of DV. Anything referring to psychological factors, substance abuse, mental illness, economic distress, or family conflict dynamics is forbidden.

So, when these feminist women's advocates argue for training cosmetologists to spy on men's behavior and "report" potential batterers, remember that to feminists, all men are "under suspicion" ("SUS") 24 x 7!

For the feminazis, it's only a matter of time, before they legislate your crime!

It sounds just like the East German secret police called the Stasi. They took all the unemployed people and gave them jobs as spies turning in their neighbors for the slightest criticism of the official dogma. In this case, the DV Stasi are trying to intimidate ordinary people into ratting out their clients boyfriends as enemies of the feminist state. Unbelievable.

What is blatantly overlooked in this scenario, is that Hair Salons are places where much of the conversation regard details on how women wilfully manipulate, blackmail and bully their husbands into complying with whatever the woman desires . . . are these conversations to be Logged and reported on ? ? ?

Exactly. This is just what I was thinking. Will they also instruct these patrons that gossip is just another form of abuse. Passive but abusive all the same.

These are all characterized (and rightfully so) as abusive behavior.

Are these salons also being told to listen to abusive stories about what is done to children?

Oh .... sorry .... "that's different" ...

They did mention that men could be subject to domestic violence. It would not have been surprising if they had ignored the idea of male victims altogether.

In 2000, the issue of hairdressers as domestic-violence informants came up in Nevada.

Yea, there's a lot of stuff these d.v. fools list under abusive behavior, and it reads like a personality profile of different controlling women I've known. I even ask one of them once if she wanted me to wear a dog collar and a leash. Her reply was, "Yes." Guess I should have reported her, but I didn't think it was a big deal. This is from this weeks Scarborough Country Wednesday and Thursday. If you really dig into this misinformation you might conclude at some point that about 11,700 pregnant men where murdered in a year. Huh???

"SCARBOROUGH: And, of course, we showed you the stats last night. Just again, of the more than 14,000 pregnant women who were murdered in 2002, more than 32 percent of them were killed by their husbands or boyfriend. And, of course, homicide is the No. 1 killer of pregnant women

=================================================
A certain percentage of the 3717 women who were murdered in 2000 (latest year I could find) were murdered by and intimate, and a certain percentage of those where pregnant. Most likely a few hundred not 14,000.

Here is the Dept of Justice web site and stats that indicate what really are the facts,

Her e-mail addy is:

rjmiller@sun-sentinel.com

Hello Ms Miller,

This is in reference to your article about getting women's beauty salons to look out for signs of domestic violence.

The emphasis of the article was on female victims of domestic violence and you did mention in passing that men can be victims of domestic violence too.

However, current statistics and studies have shown that women initiate domestic violence against men as much as men against women. In other words the ratio is approximately 50 / 50. But it must be noted that society does not like to recognize that men can be and are domestic violence victims. Therefore the incidence of female on male domestic violence is probably skewed on the downside. Additionally, women are the prime abusers of children which is also domestic violence. I have had personal experience in my own family with both of these syndromes. This social denial of violence against men is often exhibited in the media in portrayals of violence against men. When is the last time you saw a woman getting kicked in the groin and it being portrayed as funny and even cute? You see it against men all the time in commercials and movies.

Domestic violence is a national problem but it is imperative that ALL sides of the issue are presented and recognized.

Thank you for your time.

It's never been a big deal for d.v. avocates to coach a woman to cook up a story about domestic abuse. The d.v. counsellors should just go to women's athletics or other female physical venues where lots of bruises occur and talk the females into framing there boyfriends and husbands. A lot of what they do now is nothing more than this anyway. It looks like there just looking for a better supply of women with bruises, and I think they could do better than hair salons.

Here's an adertisement I wrote for the d.v. industry that might be helpful to them, since this is largely what they're really about. I just don't mince words like they do.

"WANTED - Women with bruises - You get the bruise, we got the lie. Lying about those old yellow bruises can be fun and profitable, especially if you just broke up with your husband or boyfriend (the bastard). Now taxpayer funded domestic violence programs can help you satisfy that need for revenge, and get you some extra cash too for your next shopping spree. No matter that bruise is two weeks old and yellow. Just call the police and tell them you got it that evening and we'll do all the rest. We even have the police trained to lie for us and they'll do it if they know what's good for them."
