I haven't seen the ad but it doesn't surprise me. I remember a few years back where a local bank in my community ran a print ad showing a frontal view of a young couple sitting together. The man had an innocent look on his face and the woman's eyes were shifted slightly in the man's direction. She seemed to have a scheming expression on her face. I don't remember the exact wording of the caption, but it read something to the effect that the bank could arrange their accounts so that she could get to his money if she needed to and he could do nothing about it.
I know that other companies, including Progressive insurance and Hallmark, use male-denigrating ads and father-bashing stereotypes. They consider violence against males to be a joke and fathers to be idiots. I try not to use their products and services in most cases.

I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING WASHINGTON MUTUAL OVER ITS'ADS SINCE THEY HAD ONE SHOWING A MAN BEING STRETCHED ON A RACK SYMBOLIZING WHAT A TORTURE IT IS TO GET A LOAN FROM ANOTHER BANK. I PROTESTED THE COMMERCIAL TO THEIR HOME OFFICE AND EVEN MET A REPRESENTATIVE OT THE BANK HERE IN NEW YORK WHEN THEY TOOK OVER THE DIME SAVINGS BANK. I ASKED HER IF SHE FOUND THE COMMERCIAL FUNNY. SHE SAID SHE DID. I THEN ASKED HER IF SHE WOULD FIND THE AD FUNNY IF IT WAS A WOMAN BEING TORTURED. SHE SAID NO. SO MUCH FOR FEMALE SENSITIVITY. ALL THEIR ADS HAVE THE SAME THEME, MEN BEING HURLED ABOUT BY AN INTEREST BEARING PLANT AND HANGING FROM A CEILING. I AM GLAD TI HAVE AN ALLY IN THE FIGHT AND HOPE OTHERS WILL JOIN US.
