They are both being charged, that is a good thing. I agree that the spin put on the two articles is a little iffy:
HIM: definately wrong;
HER: left up to the reader to decide in her case.

I thought the timing was interesting. Perhaps it was just coincidence but it seemed the fact that both stories appeared on cnn.com at the same time... right next to eachother... well... maybe someone at cnn is trying to make a point for us. Hard to believe since cnn tends to be pretty anti-male, but there's no doubt that a few people who normally wouldn't think about it will be scratching their heads and going "hmm... that doesn't seem fair". First off there is a big difference between 14/22 and 15/37. it could be argued that the difference in ages between the first case is 8 years, one would have to take into consideration the psychological mental age of both parties, and consider the total circumstances. The same is not plain in the other case, 37 for any gender should be an adult, no matter how sweet he or she may be. The first case no one could claim that the male could be old enough to be her father, but in the second that is the case. I have serious questions about both cases myself, but the second because of the glaring age difference, and the fact that the young man was in crisis, in trouble with the law, and uncontrolable, she could have told him to go away. The family situation in the first case sounds like the girls mother may have something to do with it, and if so she should also have charges placed against her if they are to charge the young man, because didn't the article say that the mother condoned this behavior, as well as the marriage? More info needed for an attempt at an intelligent answer!
