UK: More Overt Anti-Male (White in particular) Discrimination
posted by Matt on 09:19 PM November 30th, 2005
Inequality Candidates for an unidentified UK police force were quite explicitly turned away because of their race and sex. The police force in question is being held to account, but one must ask why they feel they can behave this way with such impunity?

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Who ever is the MOST QUALIFIED should get the job. Whether they are White, Black, Red, Yellow, Tan, Green, Gay, Straight, Male or Female.
WHY is this concept so hard to grasp...?

There is really no question that this is rank gender and racial discrimination. If the tables had been turned and non-white and/or female qualified candidates were turned downed on the grounds that their numbers were already overly represented then all hell would break lose!

So what are British white males going to do about this? If they just say oh, well let the government handle it and turn their attention to the sports page and that stupid weekly tity picture on page 3 then they get exactly what they deserve.

"weekly tity picture on page 3" Weekly? Where'd you get your information, the CIA? :-)

I'm tempted to ask if this is criticism from the country that founded affirmative action.

But more importantly is isn't it understood that feminism is a world-wide menace and is successful partly because men with a misplaced chivalry think they¡¦re helping women. Only when enough men understand the true meaning of feminism will feminism get seriously challenged.

The police force is the Avon and Somerset Constabulary (see map further down) This follows on from We need positive discrimination to meet race targets, say police chiefs which is the result of the death of Stephen Lawrence, a black guy killed by 4 racists whom the police managed not to arrest for some time and later there was a failed court case. The police were labelled “institutionally racist” by a Government report. This became sexism as well without any evidence for the latter. I think that the police have been a political football for some time and regrettably they have reacted to it by becoming political themselves. Hence they’re increasingly willing to do anything that “helps” minorities and women (although there’s no proof of major sexism in the police). Luckily in spite of the PC culture it is still illegal to have affirmative action. So far.
