NeW is a college campus movement to watch

Education Anonymous User writes "It has far fewer campus chapters than NOW, but a fledgling group called NeW is mounting a cultural challenge to the National Organization for Women and joining a growing attack on the progressive culture of U.S. universities. Read the full story here."

The three early examples given for things NeW might oppose are women in combat roles, pay equity, and ending discrimination in the workplace...three things I'm IN FAVOR OF. This smells like a recruiting group for already established "traditional-minded" groups entrapped by the gender roles that hold men as well and women hostage, such as those who say that women should be protected from danger BUT men should be sent off to die in wars.

Men are from EARTH. Women are from EARTH. Deal with it.

I agree.

If NOW is on the far left, these guys are on the far right. Neither represent the views of sanity.

I guess we will see, but I strongly suspect I'm not going to like this organization either.

But I'll keep an eye on them before I decide if they are friend or foe.
I would like to see a significant counter group against the N.O.W.

Same ol', same ol' warmed over feminism coming at us from the other pole of the political spectrum. The only difference is one of emphasis—the perks of the past versus the perks of the present. One MRA likened the difference between liberal and conservative feminism as two slave overseers debating whip techniques.

In the Netherlands and other European countries we see these so-called "Enlightened Women" too. I've talked a lot with them and the first thing they all start with is "I am not a feminist".

But once you start digging deeper in their thoughts you will find out soon that in fact they have the same ideas as their "old style" sisters have.

They don't want to give up the benefits of the "old style" feminism.
They still don't give a rat's ass about men's or children's rights, it's all about them. (Read the article)

It's the same old crap, they just gave it a "NeW" name.

Nope, nothing new about NeW. I don't like it either, since I'm not particularly "conservative", and I feel in my bones that these people don't genuinely care about MEN's issues anyway...

However, one potential bright spot: Their existence could weaken the opposition (i.e. radical feminism) by giving them one more energy-depleting battle situation to deal with.
