Parental rights for same-sex couple (or only lesbians)
posted by Matt on 01:10 PM May 26th, 2005
Gay/Bisexual Men federico writes "Here is an article about parental rights for same-sex couple in the San Francisco Chronicle. Besides the fact that I'm not sure that this is a great idea one thing really attracted my attention: altough in the all article it's seems all about "same-sex cases" (gay and lesbian) the title on the front page states "Lesbian Parenthood Debated". Now I think that this is a typo (or maybe more a lapsus) that tells a lot about what we already know, that of course for gay couples there will never be any right to parenthood. In fact all the examples in the article are lesbian couples."

No matter how much feminists claim society pushes more gender restrictions on women than men, when it comes to advocating for any cause, the advocates almost always put women on the forefront because they know very well that society, including male judges and politicians as well as feminists, are far more likely to support women than the men. No matter what position one takes on gay adoption, this clearly exemplifies the deep anti-male sentiment that permeates throughout our society.

Is anyone really suprised at this?
If so you need to get out and get some life expirience.
I don't know why you men don't stand up to feminists in larger numbers.
Why do so many of you just sit there and take this garbage from the courts, the Government, feminists and women in general?
I am becoming more and more ashamed at being female, myself.

Some of us are, Jinx. Trust me. Why more men aren't is a whole other story.

Jinx, thank you for telling us men to stand up for ourselves. Sadly, I think we need to hear WOMEN like you say that. Because MEN have been socialized extremely, to let WOMEN have the easy way out, and to take the pain for the rest of society. Hard to admit it, but most MEN are terrified to stand up to WOMEN cuz we will be punished severely for it.
MEN need to realize we are victims too, and that its okay to admit it, because only then will we be able to HEAL.

Geez, if you keep talking like that you could begin to impact the rosy glow of my benevolent male nature.

Jinx-
Alot of us M.R.A.s wonder the same thing.
'Why do so many men just sit there and "take it?"'
Personaly, I don't really know the ansewer exactly.
As an Indian I have a similar question to yours. and that is; Why don't more MINORITY men stand up to feminism?
In my oppinion it is we minority men that should be protesting the loudest. We have already been penalized for being Indian, Black, Asian, etc. Now we are to be penalized in the exact same way because we are MALE. It doesn't matter to the feminists if you are "White" or "minority". If you are a MAN you are a TARGET, PIRIOD.
It seems to me that white men have the most b***s, when it comes to confronting feminism. I am ashamed that more Indians (and other "people of color") are not following suit.
I really DON'T get it.

I just recalled, that in reading about the new VAWA that is to be proposed soon, one of the things they want to do is to expand to underserved areas. One of the main areas mentioned was Indian Reservations.

Just what those men need, another hate group targeting their lives for more persecution.

Carol Mosley's campaign for the 2004 Democratic Presidential candidate is a great example of this. Although blacks have clearly suffered far more historically than women have, Carol never once said she should be elected because "It's time to put a black person in the oval office". She did say "It's time to put a woman in the oval office" so often that I think it was her campaign slogan.
