Already She Needs a New Lawyer (Score:0)

The article linked above states --

"A grand jury indicted her on one count of making a false police report, a misdemeanor, and one count of false statement, a felony."

I understand she has already admitted both of these charges. Each of which is a violation of law.

However, her female lawyer has stated "she did not commit a crime."

Is there some special feminist legal logic that allows one to conclude 1 + 1 does not equal 2?

The issue is if there was a crime committed in Georgia, so it's a jurisdiction question. She made her false reports in New Mexico, so the question is if she can be accussed of a crime in Georgia for something that happened in New Mexico.

Maybe so. However, she went to great lengths to make her disapperence look like foul play--under the Illinois Criminal Code that constitutes obstruction of justice.

Come what may, how much does anyone want to bet that she will serve NO jail time?
A (smallish) fine maybe, but no jail time.

That's what any defense lawyer does.

Their client is always innocent. The DA has the wrong person, etc, etc.

This wackjob has been arrested 3 times before for shoplifting and one charge was a felony.

But of course this was never mentioned in the article.

I've not heared one thing in the media about this. (this woman's prior convictions)
But is that really such a shock? If I know our feminist loving media (and I do) they probably ommited all of those things to garner more public sympathy for her. They are notorious for doing that with female perps.
But I'm not saying anything that most of us here don't already know.

I have a question.
What do you call it when you have a media that protects wrong-doers of a specific group?
Is there a word for that?

the best i can really come up with is the more general term of media bias.

not sure if there's a word for that specific situation however.
