Richard Hayden

Announcements Trudy W Schuett writes "The founder of the Abused Guys Yahoo Group and much-loved friend, Richard Hayden, has passed.

I will provide information on the memorial and other things in a few days, when I have them. There will be an in-person memorial service in Northern California in about three weeks. At the same time, I will set up an online service for those who are unable to attend the physical memorial.

For those of you who depend on the Yahoo group, please do not be concerned as I promised Richard some time ago that it would continue. It will. It is one of a very few resources for abused men anywhere, and so we will make sure men will continue to have a place to seek help and get support.

Love and light!

I'm sorry to hear this news as well. Although I never met Richard Hayden in person, he seemed like a decent man.

I had thought of a way to continue what Richard was interested in, that is, supporting services for abused men and their children.

I have been trying to get people to donate to DAHM, with moderate success so far. What about some kind of fundraiser picnic/cookout/BBQ on, say, the Fourth of July. This could be held in several locations, or at the NCFM conference in Washington DC. Proceeds from this could be sent to DAHM in order to get their shelter up and running.

Just an idea.
