Another Woman Teacher Satutory Rape
posted by Matt on 04:30 PM May 11th, 2005
Boys/Young Men Dittohd writes "In Tennessee, the maximum sentence for statutory rape is only two years? Would this maximum sentence be the same if the gender roles were reversed in this situation? Is this situation getting to feel like an epidemic to you? I wonder if this is really new or just women being afforded a taste of equal responsibility along with those so-called equal rights."

Probably not an epidemic (Score:0)

I think the term "epidemic" is a little alarmist, no less so than when the now cows say similar things about men. Also, I think the fact that we are hearing more of it probably has mostly to do with prosecutors actually charging female perps.

He(Oakes' atty) also said that Oakes' life has been devastated by the case. The married mother of two children lost her home and even lost the job she took at a grocery store after resigning from the school system because of the charges, he said. Valentine stressed that Oakes has no prior criminal record and described her as being "very educated, very intelligent."

Would someone please pass the industrial sized hanky. So, she's very educated and very intelligent? Then how come she couldn't keep her pussy in her panties?? Was it too damn powerful?? (I "Heart" my Vagina!) How many of you here think that if a man were in the reverse situation that the same hot air would float past a judges nose?? HANDS? Let's see, she deserves something REALLY nasty for such a heinous crime. How about...2 years of probation, 50 hours of community service and some, er, COUNSELING! Yeah, counseling always works. Funny how hard time always works for men. If poor pitiful Miz Oakes should mysteriously turn up pregnant, the 16 year old boy, by necessity, will forfeit the rest of his adolescence and find a job at that local grocery store so he can do the court ordered thing and pay his child support. All for NOT breaking the law. That's fair, isn't it? After all, we're talking about equality here, RIGHT???? YEAH BUDDY! FEMINISM ROCKS FOR SHIZZLE!!!!

It is an improvement when an older woman in a deep South state is actually charged with statutory rape rather than the more mild "contributing to the delinquency of a minor or lewd conduct with a minor."

But one has to still keep in mind that if a pregnancy did result from this illicit union then the rapist could collect child support from the minor male if she chose to keep the bastard offspring. There have been recent rulings in this area of law in the states of Kansas and paradoxically Arkansas wild bill clinton's home turf if you remember.

See:

Scott HAMM v. OFFICE OF CHILD

SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT

98-228 ___ S.W.2d ___

Supreme Court of Arkansas

12 yo ordered to pay child support.

STATE of Kansas, ex rel., Colleen HERMESMANN, Appellee,
v.
Shane SEYER, a minor, and Dan and Mary Seyer, his parents, Appellants.
No. 67,978.
Supreme Court of Kansas.
March 5, 1993.

13 yo ordered to pay child support.

Two years is the Minimum she is able to serve.

There is a difference between rape and statutory rape.
If a guy,(and I say guy because we all know a female won't get chargd with rape in the U.S.), uses force to subdue and sexually assault a woman that is rape. When she is screaming NO and fighting that is rape. When she is unconcious that is rape. The laws are harsher.

Statutory rape boils down to age of consent.
Both parties involved may want it, but it is illegal because of age.
