Female Pilot Wins Discrimination Case

	AngryMan writes "A female BA pilot has taken the airline to court for sex discrimination because they wouldn't allow her to work half-time to look after her kid. They say she needs to complete her flying hours for safety reasons, and that the rules apply to everybody. She won. I hope I don't find myself on her plane. Story here."

Just Don't Fly with Her (Score:1) by Konovan on 11:15 AM April 23rd, 2005 EST (#3) If your a co-pilot, flight attendant, or passenger on British Airways, refuse to fly with her. You have to protect yourself from flying with a pilot who fails to meet the proper safety requirements. (It would probably be more effective to get co-pilots and flight attendants to refuse to fly, since you would need to get a large number of passengers to refuse to fly before anyone noticed.)

(Score:2) by ArtflDgr on 03:19 PM April 26th, 2005 EST (#4) with this precident set for a major large airline, god help every other company that has a woman that wants to work half the time for 75% of the money... she would be stupid not to... actually if she was smart, she could get a second job, do the same thing. and get 150% of what she would for working normal hours! all it takes is a good precident and now the walls will come tumbling down... employers with these women will have a large drain on their assets to maintain them. personally i think i would move the company headquarters... thats something they cant stop, then do as much business from external areas so that i can minimize the drain. translating this is that they will fire lots of people (not british, but others int he trap) so they can move things away... why does a cop wear a bullet proof vest? to limit damage... why does a company change home base... to limit damage...
