UNH examines discrimination at "Patriarchy Slam"
posted by Hombre on 09:16 PM March 25th, 2005
News Ray writes "This New Hampshire newspaper reports on the "Patriarchy Slam held in the basement of UNH's Memorial Union Building the evening of March 10," here . One comment describes the event as "a public feminist poetry event where women wore scissors on their necks and talked of castrating rapists." Another comment speaks of the event's participants as, "using the scissors to pop balloons that spelled out "The Patriarchy,'" A UNH vice president says, among other things, "We're not finished dealing with the whole issue...""

Looks like the feminists are backpedaling. Unfortunately, something in that quote "not finished dealing with the whole issue" sounds like "are finished dealing with this part of the issue", but we'll see how this develops. - Hombre

I think we all know how this will turn out. Review the following in the article...

When asked if the event would be investigated as a case of discrimination if it was hosted by a fraternity and included men referencing mutilation of female parts, Lawing said she and other UNH administrators considered that possibility.

"Frankly, when we found out about this, we were asking, 'What if it was a fraternity?' " she said. "If a fraternity did that, we have so much data that shows that fraternities have been violent with women in the past and the instances of women being violent to men happen so infrequently."

Translation: "We don't plan to do anything about it because this publicly funded University encourages and supports feminist hate groups on campus."

Dear Editor:

How in this politically correct educational world is it possible that such violence and hatred as occurred at the recent "Patriarchy Slam" at UNH could have "systematically" happened under today's strict zero tolerance policies?

Since the Feminist Action League (FAL) organized and held this rally in the basement of UNH's Memorial Union Building the evening of March 10, I am left to wonder how it is justified that taxpayer built and operated facilities are used for such displays of hatred, where "scissors are used to pop balloons that spelled out "The Patriarchy,'" and "where women wore scissors on their necks and talked of castrating rapists?" Is "Vigilante 101" now an accredited course at UNH? I find this radical feminist thuggery despicable.

Given UNH's history of support for radical feminism, this behavior does not appear to be rare, just acquiesced to by an Administration that turns a blind eye for the greater good of the unscholarly, irresponsible, radical feminist agenda. Someone needs to find the leadership responsible for this event at UNH and clean house. How can anything less not be done, given the recent pillorying of Harvard Administrator, Larry Summers for his perceived gender faux paux? ...or will this be yet one more example of the double standard that exists in cases of discrimination where vilification of men (Patriarchy) is the accepted norm?

Sincerely, Ray XXXX

From the article....

Hentz said event organizers did not mean to suggest that they advocated castrating all men

This could be interpreted as...

Event organizers did suggest they advocated castrating all men.

(Although, apparently they did not mean it? )

Their statement kind of reminds me of that line from the movie "Misery," where the woman after intentionally hurting "Mr. man" (after smashing both the man's feet with a sledge hammer or some such) says, "I'm sooo sorry!"

Yea, that really makes it better, you psychos. How about some serious remedial punishment, and then a couple of year of batterers classes, just for starters. These psychos should be banned permanently from the campus of UNH.

It is clear from this response that a formal complaint to the US Department of Justice should be made. Does this mean that the KKK would also be welcomed to preach hatred against Jews, Blacks, and non white groups? This is one reason College Campuses increasingly find fewer and fewer Men on them. We are rapidly approaching the day when two of three students will be Women. Men are leaving College Campuses as they are bastions of Male hatred. These are mentally ill or evil Women promoting this hatred. We taxpayers have no obligation to fund them.

Thanks Tom.

In femi-America's biased, mainstream media, letters that critical of the femiarchy aren't popular so it's presently, probably swimming in a politically correct, trash can full of recyclables.

In reaching the blogoshpere (Mensactivism), it may give some encouragement (hope) to some other poor guy at his wits end, whose fed up with the man-hating abuse that our femiachry heaps on all men.

The truth is our most powerful weapon, and activism is the delivery mechansim that reaches out beyond the misandrist grasp of the femi-brainwashed politicians, teachers, and media giving a whole new meaning to, "Reach out and touch someone."

I think the question needing to be asked of UNH is: 'Would you allow ANY OTHER 'group' of people to shout hate sloagans and encourage violence against any other group? like the skin-heads or the Klan or the like?' "No?", then why are MEN singeled out for hatred and intolerance if there is zero tolerance for intolerance on your campus?

Oh, no, you see fraternities have a history of violence against women [!], so shouting hatred slogans would've been taken more seriously from them, whereas women don't actually commit violence against men, so there's no need to get upset over this. :P Oh, and they only encourage violence against rapists, who are the tool of patriarchy to keep women subservient. *roll eyes*

This statement is riddled with contradiction.

First they say they don't want to castrate all men, then they say the penis (which 99.99999999% of all men still have) is symbolic of men and were going to take away that power men have over us. That, IMHO, is still a threat of physical violence.

Clearly, UNH women's studies has taught these fembots to use their minds well - as repositories of incoherence. They can't even string a cogent sentence together, just yell, scream and dispense mindless hatred based on prejudice.

This story is still getting the ink, and I found this through FOX after checking MSM online (MSNBC, Drudge, MND, CNN, etc.) News article here

"Feminism and controversy surged throughout campus on March 10. Black and white flyers depicted a drawing of a woman grasping onto a hammer with "FEMINISM" on the handle. In the middle of the female symbol fists were clenched and space above the woman read: "If I had a hammer...I'd SMASH Patriarchy." A bubble by her face said, "I FOUND IT!'"

and

""[The event was designed to] encourage women to confront the perpetrators who are men," Smith said. "Ninety-nine percent of sexual perpetrators are men. They are the root cause of the rape and oppression against women."

The FAL's hatred of the patriarchy, a male-ruled society, was decoratively affirmed with 10 hanging balloons, each displaying a letter of the word "patriarchy." Each was dramatically popped throughout the event, symbolizing the eradication of the patriarchy."
