Glass Ceiling myth still not shattered
posted by Adam on 09:02 AM January 2nd, 2005
News AngryMan writes "The British media is pandering to another biased report from the Equal Opportunities Commission, recycling all the tired old myths about the glass ceiling, and the supposed unfair discrimination women face in the workplace. Links BBC, Guardian and Independent "research shows that most high-ranking jobs in business, the judiciary and the police are filled by men...women's careers are still blighted by a glass ceiling." There is another explanation - maybe women just aren't as motivated as men to seek top jobs."

30% of Female Harvard MBAs Working full time (Score:1)

There was this study (easy to find on the web) where they looked at female Harvard MBA grads from 1980, 1985, and 1990. (Why those years? Now would be their primary career/money years)

Results: less than a THIRD were working full time.

Yep, most of the world's most expensively educated, talented, driven, and prepared business women were NOT working full time.

They had chosen less than full time/to stay at home, to have families, and to not run the endless marathon for the almighty dollar.

And no mention of that in the BBC's mouth pieces of feminist theory.

What a freaking surprise.
