Inequality Harold Leist seeks local coordinators to continue the NCP lawsuit effort in Virginia. Please click "Read more..." for the details and if you are an NCP in Virginia, please consider joing Harold's efforts to help you and other NCPs get some sembalnce of justice.

Hi everyone,

Well as you all know we are not dead in the water. Considering the judge gave us leave to amend the complaint and told us what the problem is, I would say we are looking good. I would like to think that all of you who sent letters and all the other things that have been done had some impact on it.

I write to you today in an effort to form leaders in every county in Virginia. Of the group that we have we go from the coast to the mountains, from rural farms to the largest of cities. We are everywhere. The problem is we have only scratched the surface of the people who know about us.

Would you be interested in putting together a team where you live to help get the word out? You would be asked to set up some type of email service (yahoo works great) so you can contact people, work on passing fliers by posting in Wal-Mart, K Mart and passing them out at the malls and other such stuff to try to get people involved.

Now you don’t have to do all the work yourself. It will be up to you to build a local team to help you with the projects.

Now would be a great time for everyone to get involved. According to the court tracking system (Pacer) lots of paperwork has been filed for the case. Lots more wouldn't hurt. Let the court, and everyone else know we are here.

There are over 360,000 NCP’s in VA. Add to that what every you want for those who have remarried (you new wife or husband has the same problems you have) and you could say we are a large voting block that needs to be considered.

So let’s break the state down into smaller pieces and press to get the word out and everyone on the same page. It will only help our children.

Let me know if you can help,

Thank you,

Harold

Virginia by way of Petersburg (Score:1)

I don't know whether this is germane or not, but there is rumor of a lawsuit against the Family Court in Petersburg, Virginia. It seems the presiding judge in this small town is routinely handing out sentences of a year, two, five, even ten years for child support arrears. According to some of his victims, he first asks how much of the arrearage you can pay. He then demands a couple grand on top of that in order to imprison you.

As far as I can tell the lawsuit will take on the racial angle rather than the gender angle. (Petersburg is nearly all black, the white judge is probably a former Kluxer or wannabe; these sentences far exceed those in the surrounding counties and in most jurisdictions.)

You might want to look into this. If anything comes of it, it may add impetus to the movement of NCOs nationwide.
