"Alice Spigelman, the Benevolent Society's director of business development, says one in four women have experienced domestic violence but many women never tell anyone about "intimate partner violence", and that almost 85 per cent of women do not seek professional help or report incidents of violence to the police."
SO she is making a statement of frequency, then 'proving' the numbers by claiming that the majority never report it. However, she has no studies supporting her theory that 85% of women do not report, therefore 1/4 of all women are abused. In other words, she is making it up. You would think they would try to be a little more subtle when making up data. This was one of the more obvious I have seen.
