Great news! Things are building. Slowly the masculine perspective is getting air time and some respect.
Do we have True Equality?

Yes, it is good news. I was worried about this one. I'm happy for all the good folks who helped bring it about, especially Glenn Sacks.

I am not surprised, and this is gratifying that they caved.
With a goliath like Verizon caving that means 10 other companies will quietly follow suit.
We're hardly out of the woods, but it's a step.

I don't think they caved, they backed off.
They owe the public an apology. Unless they run some apology commercials quickly, I don't think they caved.
The next time Verizon has business in front of your state's Public Utility or Corporation Commissions, it might be a good idea to drop them a line.
Unless of course the CEO of Verizon appears in a commercial apologizing...

I agree, but this campaign has clearly drawn a line in the sand. I hope misandrist advertisers are begining to see that males are really, really fed up with the misandrist crap, that commercial advertisers have been heaping on us and our families for way too long.

Outstanding work everyone! We should all celebrate.
Hopefully all advertisers will be more aware of misandrous advertising in the future and we’ll see less of it.
On the downside we need to remember that this was just one in a series of 4 ads that played on the dad-as-idiot theme. Maybe I’m being cynical but I can’t help but wonder if Verizon will just run the others more frequently to replace the one that they axed.
Regardless, this is a major victory.

Now tha we know where the "bakery"is thatcooked it up and who that "bakery's" other customers are, I am confident we can convince them to change the recipe.

I agree this IS a major victory.
The most major victory, however, will be when these door knobs finaly are too skittish about airing anti-male ads, the same way they are about airing anti-female ads.
But then that IS what we are working for.

I am not an optimist by nature, but let me force myself into that role for a moment and ask, are there good advertisers out there? Is there some way we can identify companies who are projecting what we consider balanced imagery? Positive messages? Can we promote their products and give positive feedback for doing the right thing?
OK. That is all. Now back to our regulary scheduled cynicism...

Yes, it's a good idea. Problem is, are there ANY advertisements out there which portray men positively? Quite frankly, none spring to mind.

I yearn for messages that portray both men and women in a positive light. Problem is, western culture no longer has a clear, or agreed upon, image of what good men and good women look like. We are a divided nation/culture.

One of the "problems" is that advertisments portraying a loving intact family get hate male from feminist organizations due to "stereotyping" families and "ignoring today's realities" of the single mom headed household.
Seen it discussed on feminist boards.
They think that positive commercials about intact families are BAD. Remember, to them a "family" is a mom and the kids with dad as a bolt on after-thought attached with explosive bolt ejection charges. There is a handle that any woman can pull and the legal system does a "Tom Cruise" and says: "Eject Eject Eject" (minus wallet, dignity, and rights to access to kids)

I saw a commercial within the month that showed a Father and child in a loving relationship, but can't remember what it was now.
People should be nurturing to each other, but evil radical/gender feminists have it as a priority to destroy heterosexual families. That is why they have become so despised by so many men, women, and children. They clearly do not have a live and let live attitude to the vast majority of people living in their communities who have done them no harm. It is sad that our society is plagued by the radical/gender feminist hate movement.
Sincerely, Ray
