Doesn't anyone see this as child abuse??

Boys/Young Men this is not equality writes "Granted, this is occuring in the middle east, but shouldn't someone be calling these mothers out for abusing their sons by encouraging them to commit suicide in the name of allah...by using lies, pressure, propoganda and pseudo-martyrdom status?!?!

... run of the mill, tried and true, socially-accepted and encouraged militarization of boys and men to be used as instruments of someone's idea of religion or nationalism or both. It's so common and been going on for so long people hardly notice it. And alas people of both sexes indulge in it. It is just considered more noteworthy when mothers are involved in it, though why I don't know; they have been so all over the world for millenia. Here's just one example from ages past:

A Spartan mother had warned her son to "return either with your shield or on it" (Spartan shields were large enough to serve as stretchers or funeral biers). If a hoplite returned home alive without the shield, it meant that he had thrown it away while running for his life (its weight made it a formidable obstacle to fast running), an act of cowardice.

Seems the Spartan "mother" had no trouble challenging her own (exclusively male, of course) offspring to go forth and fight bravely unto death or don't even bother coming back to see her. And off he marched whilst she went back inside and had a bit of a lie-down; child abuse is after all an utterly exhausting hobby!

Sounds like more of the same thing we were discussing, last week, on another thread.
Women shameing men into combat, then calling them brutal war-mongers when they do it.
No winnin', man. No winnin'.

Don't forget what feminism teaches us - these young men are reaping the fruits of the Palestinian Patriarchy. Not only do they earn a great deal of sympathy for their cause by blowing themselves up (and killing innocent Israeli women and children - the men don't count), but they also get to indulge in the sexism of treating 72 women as sex objects in the afterlife.

Funny how all the great advantages of being male were either there for past generations but gone, currently existing in third-world holes, or in fantasy afterlives. Here and now in the West? Not so much.
