Provisional NCFM chapter for Colorado
posted by Matt on 05:36 PM October 5th, 2004
National Coalition of Free Men mens_issues writes "I am announcing my intent to create a provisional NCFM chapter for Colorado. We have the required minimum 5 members for such a provisional chapter, but would like more, so feel free to contact me if you're interested at mens_issues@att.net. We hope to be able to meet for the first time sometime this month, preferably on a Saturday afternoon.

Our activities could include contacting and lobbying politicians (particularly at the state level where a lot of laws are made), contacting companies that use misandric advertising (and boycotting the recalcitrant ones), getting libraries and bookstores to carry "men's issues" books, outreach (particularly at universities) to counter the effects of feminist influenced media, and protests - such as the one at the CO state capitol (thanks to those who showed up for this in June). Thanks for putting this together, Steve. I'm looking forward to our meetings and activism.

Yes! Welcome!!!

This movement is growing. What also needs to grow is its organizational force. Slowly but surely.

What does "provisional" mean in this case?

At what point do you drop the "provisional" from your title? What does it take to become a "full-fledged" chapter that you haven't accomplished yet?

"What does "provisional" mean in this case?"

In a nutshell, I think it means if you survive a year you become a regular chapter.

Basically correct.

All NCFM chapters start out as provisional. If you maintain a (minimal) membership and hold regular meetings for a year, and fill out some (very minor and simple) paperwork--primarily a financial report--to national, you become a full chapter.
