Girls' HS Volleyball Team Beats Up Opponents
posted by Matt on 02:47 PM September 27th, 2004
News Another violent femmes type story here. Apparently "empowerment" without good sportsmanship is the rule of the day in some girls' high school athletic deprtments.

I don't know if it is socialization or biological (I believe social), but I swear that females have a difficult time curbing agression. Competition is about aggression (in a mild form), you are trying to beat your opponent. When women compete there is no mutual respect for the opponent, only anger. The women do not know how to control their agression.

This is based on personal experience (w/ girlfriends and teammates), nothing scientific. I should also point out that this is one of those 60/40 splits (60% of females have problems with aggression control). Having talked with some of these women about it they don't understand how the guys in the group can have respect for someone they are angry with. The females "hate" the individual (even for small infractions) and are plotting some sort of revenge. The males are angry about some behaviour, and are considering sanctions but don't hate the offending party. (I've seen this played out in High School, University, Office Politics, Family Relationships)

I'm all for women in sports (my sister is a great rugby player), but I think that sportsmanship is something that needs to be emphasized in the female programs (wouldn't hurt the guys to get a little more of it either). Really, sportsmanship is another name for aggression control.

Gods... I hope my fiance never reads this.

To hell with your fiance if she doesn't respect your beliefs. If she is "offended" by this and threatens you with typical girlfriend bullshit, then dump her ass!

And why the FUCK are you getting married?!!! Do you have any idea what you're getting into?!

If you're already worried about you fiance having issues with you speaking your mind and being a liberated male then I think it's time for a dumpin'!

Pussy is NEVER worth it!!!

If she has a problem with you being open with your opinions, then send her back and live like a free man.

Sheesh, whatever happen to the marriage strike around here?

I'm a woman I don't even want to get married.
