Ackerman said he believes the American Civil Liberties Union and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People should get involved in "repairing this awful situation."

So the only involvement of the ACLU and the NAACP are that the lawyer mentions them and the gopusa.com quotes their charters. As GOPUSA.com is "Bringing the Conservative Message to America" might be a little biased in their reporting against Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, and the NAACP.

True, howevr something the gop and ideed most people might not know is that groups like the ACLU and the NAACP don't necissrily like groups like planned parenthood or for that matter groups like NOW. th NAACP has always had some problem with PP ( from thier founder to some undrcurents of the black community that regarded birth controll as an easy method of genocide) as far as the ACLU goes they will defend just about anybody. as ar as thier rlationship with now goes, the NAACP has not forgoten that the feminist movement was and is largly a white upper middle class movement. either way i see only on major negative to this and that is that some major bunch of prolifers might try and take advantsge of the situation and somehow annoy everyone

Yes.
The N.O.W IS, indeed primarily a party of upper-middle class white women. And they PREFER it that way, I.M.O..
That is why you don't see too many Black feminists, few Asian or Hispanic feminists and nearly NO American-Indian feminists. In fact, I don't even know of ONE Indian feminist.
I'm reasonably certain there are SOME, I've just never heard of one. Maybe I just haven't payed enough attention, I don't know. I would just hope that our women were too ethical to consider being a feminmist in this day and age.

I'm not well up on American politics, but this story doesn't surprise me at all. The Feminist movement has always been intimately involved with racist and nazi organisations.

This article is a review of 'Women of the Klan' by Kathleen M Blee, which traces the history of the WKKK in the 1920s:

http://www.bigglesguy.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/klan.ht ml

The article states that Blee's book "documents in great detail a direct lineage between the Women's Ku Klux Klan and the radical feminist movement as it exists today".

In the 1930s feminists - including former suffragettes - were involved in Fascist movements throughout Europe. The British Fascist leader Oswald Moseley stated that his female members were the most dedicated, and that his movement could not have survived without them.

I've been saying it all along:

Don't get mad. Get organised.
