False Accusations of Rape
posted by Adam on 09:25 AM September 16th, 2004
False Accusations Marc writes "The Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journals (the largest daily legal newspapers in the U.S.) just printed an expanded op-ed by Glenn Sacks on the frequency of false accusations of rape and how the media, victims' advocates and prosecutors neglect the problem, in light of the Kobe Bryant events. The Daily Journal has no link for non-subscribers, but the article was re-printed at Michnews.com here at this link The data cited can be helpful for advocates to raise awareness about this problem that, like male victims of DV, is severely neglected and covered-up because of gender feminist politics."

Thanks for the facts! The media's suppression of this information is worse than Dan Rather's fraud.

You mean Dan Rather-not-be-honest.?
Or "Dan Blather"?
Either on is good.

He is as bad as Jokie Roberts, Cooky Couric or Tom Broke-law, or Connie Dung.

It always amazed me how a certain ex-prosecuter's eyes flared with rage as she talked about Kobe Bryant. I remember the 1st time they referred to the alleged victim using the "alleged" word. Even after this was mentioned she was still referring to the "alleged victim" as "the victim."

Clearly, we need a "falsely accussed sheild law" to protect us from the prejudice of people who do not respect the "innocent until proven guilty" mandate in our laws.

It is important for everyone to know that rates of false rare reports are about 2%. This is actually lower than most false report rates for most every other crime (about 8%). Perhaps the reason this phenomenon does not get frequent media attention is because it occurs so infrequently.
