I trust 'everyone' who reads this will have taken the few mins it requires to send off a Tide of Complaints to the Editor of the newspaper - questioning their professional standards. Only by avalanching such distorted reporting can we make these lazy journalists take a look at themselves and the manner of their reporting ! See Glenn Sachs triumph brought about by same.

I just sent my letter off. Even before I saw your message, Gang-banged. I do hope the editor and Ms Bryson get a Tide of Complaints from folks who are angry about the anti-male bias in her outrageous article.

I wrote her and told her I thought she was allowing herself to be used by these people for propaganda purposes. I told her why and asked her to write an article focusing on male victims. Worth a try.

Perhaps she could do an article about the "journalistic standards" (oxy-moron) that allow news reporters to dismiss domestic violence against men by never actually using the words domestic violence, then a follow up article could be done talking about how feminist trained police and domestic violence advocates dismiss domestic violence against men when they investigate crimes.
Given the fraud commited by both of the above it is no wonder men have a three times higher murder rate than women.
Glenn did an article on this that I will try to find.

It is interesting with the national wave of violent female offenders on the rise that this reporter chose one incident to create a hysterical article with the sole purpose of creating animosity in women against men.
This is how the domestic violence industry does their public relation campaigns. They wait for a crime, then they have the quasi-journalistic fembots disguised as reporters disseminate hate agenda to the public at large.
The title of this article is highly inflammatory as the Utah homicide rate is just .2% higher than the national average - which is just over 1 person per 100,000 people.
This is not an epidemic of male domestic abuse. This is hysteria aimed at criminalizing all men. Laws are in place to handle homicide.
Every day men are abused by police and by a judicial system based upon the false premise that widespread one-sided abuse is occurring in society. Men have their property, children and freedom taken away on allegation alone. You can not prove your innocence. You are guilty of being a man.
I know. I am a victim of false DV accusations.

The police are sexist and hatefully bigoted against men, and why not feminists trained them to be that through the domestic violence industry.
If the feminist trained police spent as much time looking for all evidence of domestic violence as they do destroying evidence (and looking for rationalizations to fulfill their profiling prejudices), then their wouldn't be so many innocent men having their lives ruined by an empidemic of false accusations.
Your VAWA dollars are hard at work framing innocent men, and rewarding battering women.

Here's my own letter that I sent to Amy Bryson and the "Letters to the Editor":
Ms. Bryson,
Your article on female homicides and domestic violence in the Monday, August 16 edition of the Deseret News left me disconcerted because of its biased slant.
I hope that in the future you will take a more balanced approach to the issue of abuse by intimate partners. It is not just a man’s problem, as Searle suggests at the end of your article. Statistics indicate that domestic violence is split 50/50 between men and women. Incriminating one-half of the population while ignoring the culpability of the other half is more likely to fuel the flames of an existing fire than to quench them.
Domestic violence is a serious issue and every side deserves a voice. I hope that the future will bring more balanced news articles, including articles that expose false domestic violence charges, abusive parents (not just fathers), the psychological effects of being separated from your children (Parental Alienation Syndrome), and other less “female as victim”-centric articles.
It’s up to writers like you to help put an end to the male-bashing and misandry that exist in the media today, just as it is the responsibility of informed readers to cry foul play when they see it.

Dear Ms. Bryson;
I got a good laugh from reading a tragic article. The article "A Tide of Violence" clearly describes a Mormon state with a domestic violence problem that is growing more rapidly than the rest of America. Indeed, it has the highest rate of domestic violence compared to the ENTIRE COUNTRY!
It is funny. Really. That is because the crisis tragically demonstrates that teaching a hatred of males will not resolve the issue. No. Criminalizing the men will only cause the issue to become worse. Domestic violence is rarely ever one sided. In your version of domestic violence the male is always evil and women are always saints.
Where a man engages in domestic violence, there is also a woman that is most likely initiating the violence at least 50% of the time. But of course you are only looking at the Marxist-Feminist propaganda so you won't believe that fact.
If male victims in Utah were to be asked if he were a victim of domestic violence, would look at you funny. Why? Because the unique Mormon culture of chivalry teaches it is okay for women, girlfriends, and mothers to be violent towards male members of their family. No. Really? This must be a lie....right?
So, I laugh at the Mormons and their bastion of ignorance. I laugh at the culture of pharmaceutical addiction, the culture of female on male violence, the culture of drug addicted moms, the culture of moms beating their sons while giving their daughters special treatment, and the bigots that blame men for the rise in violence when in fact it is the mothers that initiate the violence against their own sons.
Oh sure. There are those few males that are indeed violent and belong in jail, but what has really happened? What has happened is that Mormon women have embraced the values of Marxist-Feminism. In doing so we find that no Mormons embrace the communist definition that domestic violence is a male lightly pushing his domestic partner or calling her a name. When that happens the solution is to involve a totalitarian police force that are under the control of our Marxist-Feminist army. Gone are the good old days where actual battery was discerned as actual domestic violence.
Now a man can be arrested, find himself with a restraining order, loose his home, loose his job, and find himself on the street if the wife so much as asserts she is in fear of her husband. For those of us that are enlightened, we call this shout-at-your-spouse-loose-your-house laws. And yes they are real. They started in the Socialist countries and now they are in Utah of all places. Well. Guess you never know who will embrace Socialist values.
In the article the Marxist-Feminist Anne Burkholder is quoted as saying, "It is important for people to understand that domestic violence continues to be a serious problem in Utah, that domestic violence is a crime, not a private family matter." Well that may be true where there is actual battery, but now domestic violence is most anything including a slight shove, swearing, name calling, and more. The line is no longer drawn at actual violence with this communist.
Then the Marxist-Feminist Searle is quoted as saying, "This will continue until everyone is willing to accept what they are hearing at their neighbor's house is not just a family problem.....It is violence, and people need to take the lead by getting victims help, by calling law enforcement." So, according to these evil communist the neighbors should be calling the police if they hear a raised voice, and then the male should be arrested.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! LOL! What a bunch of communist the Utah Mormons have become! You've got to be kidding me! They have got to be the dumbest people alive!
Now that we've seen domestic violence so trivialized a male can be arrested for raising his voice, and the Mormons even believe that the police should be called. We can expect that the Marxist-Feminists will continue their program of propaganda to go to the next step. That step is the arresting of the male if they demonstrate even the profile of a person that was violent. Now what does that mean? Hum. Guess the Mormon's are too dumb to figure it out. So here it goes.
All that would be necessary is for the woman to go to the local Mormon bishop, have an interview, claim that her husband lied about having a beer, and claim she was in fear. Then the Bishop would, under the instruction of the LDS Prophet and perforce of law, call the police have have the father arrested. And thus we will further find that Carl Marx will have realized his dream the communist manifesto's mandate to destroy the family.
The real jokes are found in the following facts:
1) Male false arrests rates are at an all time high.
2) No male is provided with shelter when they are victims of domestic violence (except in very rare cases).
3) There is a complete ban on teaching males to recognize when they are victims of domestic violence.
4) Males are not taught how or if they can defend themselves against an attack.
5) In anger management courses they teach the male that they have no right of self-defense. They can only duck-cover-and run. The problem is that if the violent women gets in the way, restrains the male, or gets bumped then it is the male that will go to jail a second time and do the time. The woman experiences no consequences.
4) Males are taught in Utah that their wife(s) or domestic partner(s) have the right to hit, push, slap, kick, punch, or smash their testacies. Despite these extreme violent acts the male cannot defend himself and is not taught they they have experienced domestic violence. They are left to wonder what happened if they should defend themselves when they lift their eyes up in the hell of jail.
5) Women are actively taught by the Mormon culture that they can commit any form of violence against the male and that it will not hurt or injure the male. The male is required to accept and embrace the violence against their person. If they claim they are victims then they are seen as pussified males that cannot take it.
6) Wife's are routinely trained by the domestic violence shelters on tactics for making false allegations against their spouse so that they can get money and secure the children. This is per the directive of Carl Marx and the feminist carrying out his agenda of family destruction.
7) Mormon wives are routinely trained by the shelters to initiate divorce rather than to address their own problem with domestic violence. If the woman is violent, then the Marxist-Feminist controlled shelter is trained to teach the woman that the man is responsible for her violence.
Finally, to demonstrate the pure absurdity and B.S. of your propaganda note that you quote the following lie from the Marxist-Feminists when you state, "Pregnant women and recently pregnant women are more likely to be victims of homicide than to die of any other cause, according to the Journal of the American Medical Association."
This is a PROVEN LIE. Pregnant women die more frequently in car accidents!!! What a moron you are! You bought the Marxist-Feminist line all the way! Carl Marx would be proud!

Ah yes, another man that obviously understands Mormon culture. Not to entirely denegrate all Mormons - some of them are very decent, upstanding people - but there is definitely an undercurrent of male bashing within Mormon Utah. One of the more basic and insidious teachings commonly found in Mormonism (and commonly taught to the young men of the Church) is that women are inherently more spiritual, righteous, and less carnal than men. So, to put it more understandable terms - men are nothing but schmucks, and women are angels.

Mormons like Christians are easy marks for the women's idustries. They use the "church groups" own chivalry to work the scams on them, that they've been working agianst men in the secular world.
In the guise of being helpful and concerned, the women's industries hit the organized religions (which they hate with a passion), and don't give a damn about the damage they do to innocent men, families, children, or women with their insidious deceptions.
They look at most religions and churches as the origins of most patriarchal structures, and hate them with a passion (bears repeating). It's no secret, I've seen that ideological tact in women's studies text books.

..."lose", not "loose". "Loose" is the opposite of "tight". "Lose" is the opposite of win and that's the one you want in this letter. We are more likely to be taken seriously and to be published when we submit material that is grammatically perfect. I'm not putting anyone down; I just have the good of our cause(s) in mind.

I would suggest that members who are uncertain about their grammar/spelling should submit their letters to the group for a little editing before submission. I agree with BG, a poorly spelled letter, regardless how informative or intelliigent, is not likely to be taken seriously. It also reflects on the cause.

Assuming the year 2001 numbers in the article are using year 2000 census data, that works out to 38 murders in Utah, out of 3,379 nationally.
Utah Crime Rates 1960-2000
In truth, Utah's murder rate peaked in 1995, with 3.9 per 100,000, and has been trending down since. Total murders regardless of gender were 1.9 per 100,000 in the year 2000. If both this source and the article up top are correct, then 38 out of 43 murders in Utah in 2000 were men killing women, which makes it really weird that the article didn't point that out.
