Female Cheating Now OK!
posted by Adam on 09:09 AM July 7th, 2004
News ikeman53 writes "The cover story for the July 12, 2004 issue of Newsweek is "The New Infidelity" and seems intent on telling us that not only are more wives cheating, but that it's good and women have earned it. About half the article , naturally, talks about how awful husbands are - as if we get everything we want out of our marriages! All in all, the article is mostly generalizations and some shaky statistics designed to push this agenda that all manner of sexual misdeeds by women in this day and age are OK, but if you're a man you're evil and icky. Check your local newsstand or, for our brothers outside the United Sates, visit here."

Anonymous User also submitted a similar link and said "Newsweek has an article on cheating wives. Not surprisely, "overscheduled lives and inattentive husbands" are listed as reasons. It's not hard to get the drift from the article that if your wife cheats its because you as a husband were not supportive, kind, loving, enough to your wife. I wonder if they did an article on cheating husbands if the men would be given the same free pass and non-judgemental treatment?"

This really is sad...especially for the men whose wives may take this to heart.

Cheating is wrong, period, whether you are disatisfied with your marriage or not. If you have problems in a marriage or relationship, you talk to your spouse. You don't lie and go behind their back. If it can't be resolved, you get out of the relationship you're in...THEN go into another one. There's no having your cake and eating it too, here.

These articles basically say, if you're bored, it's okay to sleep around. Women are being given the green light to have affairs without remorse. I wonder how many marriages will be ruined by these articles.

NEWSWEEK is frankly an exreame left-wing and VERY anti-male publication.
It in no way suprises me that they aproach female infidelity from this point.

Just an aside.
I was sitting in a doctor's office waiting to be seen, a while back, when out of boredom I picked up a NEWSWEEK magazine and started flipping throught it. I came across an article called, what else, "GRRRL POWER". In it they were lauding an episode of the now caneled TV show "HURCULES THE LEGENEDAIRY JOURNEYS". at the top we see a picture of ol' Hercules captured by Amazon warrior women. He is of course bound and gagged, and the article was saying things like "It's about time" and "give women what they want, or else" and "It's good to see such "strong women" in entertainment, today." and how "sexy" the scene was.
Needless to say had it been a large group of men asailing a bound and gagged, helpless FEMALE the article would have been SCREAMING the same tired mantra of; "There's TOO much violence, degradation, humiliation, de-humanization, abuse, sadism and sexism against WOMEN in the media!!!"
So, no I am not the LEAST bit suprised to see NEWSWEEK congradulate women on the exact same thing they condem men for doing.
No suprise at all.

The problem with this Newsweek article, and society in general, is that women have always committed adultery. The fact is, society has generally ignored this fact as women tend to under-report their sexual liasons, whereas men tend to exaggerate theirs. Women have been committing adultery with numbers equal to men since time began. Women are promiscuous by nature. Society can't accept that. Society, which puts "mom" up on a pedestal to be worshipped cannot accept that she's a slut who cheats on her husband and children. The internet and the workplace have NOTHING to do with this. It just is not possible for society to accept that women have always done it. It is far easier to blame men for infidelity and marriage breakdown, than to have women accept any responsibility for their behaviour. Besides, women, especially married women, have a complete cover for their adultery. If they get pregnant, so what, they will just tell their husband that the kid is his, or get an abortion without ever telling him anything. Whereas if a married man gets a non-married woman pregnant, he's in deep trouble. She'll come after him for child support and everything else she can get.
The really infuriating part of this Newsweek article is that it is being condoned! Never once, in all the history of any news magazine, will you find an article which condones men cheating and their wives/girlfriends being blamed for their infidelity.

In the great lords house when judgement day comes and all those who have cheated, or promoted it, are called to judgement.

God.. Gee Ms. I know you cheated 46 times on your husband... What do you have to say for yourself?

MS... Gee Lord I don't know. It started out on Oprah, spread to Jenny Jones, then Sex and the City, then it was on the Sopranos, then NewsWeek, Cosmopolitan, Time and all those other magazines expressed disdain for those of us who weren't doing it. I had to have something to say while I stayed at home, contemplated with the housekeeper whether I should divorce him or not. I don't know what came over me.

God.. Gee Ms I see you went to Sunday School for 10 years, baptized, had wedding vows... which of those rules and years didn't I get it through your head? Was it the Sodddom and Gommorah or Noah and the Ark, The burning bush, the ten commandment namely number seven which explicitly says "Thou shall not commit adultry". What, what is it where I went wrong? I exposed society to VD, Syphalis, Gonnorrhea, Herpes, Yeast Infections, Cold Sores and finally Aids and you still didn't get it? What do you have to say for yourself?

MS. But God. My husband never paid me any attention. He worked too hard, was always coming home late, never ate with the family.

God. I was expecting an I am sorry. Unfortunately for you there are no high priced attorneys up here to bail you out. Now go rot in Hell

Anti-male propoganda is a regular feature of Newsweek. A couple of weeks ago they suggested that Shakespeare really was a female, and I seem to remember that they suggested that Mary Magadalen, not Jesus, really deserved to be worshipped. If I remember right, they also said she wasn't a prostitute, but she was justified in committing adultery because her husband wasn't paying attention to her.

Well, if you had any doubts about the presence of an anti-male media campaign, Newsweek provides the news to resolve your doubt.

One thing that often bothers me about articles written by women, is their typical barrage of pseudo-intellectual verbosity which, inevitably, simply indicates and covers up some type of hypocrisy-- or just plain ignorance of the subject.
The fancy spin-wordage and double-talk in this spew-- beginning with the by-line "American women are looking for comfort in the arms of another man," clearly denotes sympathy rather than objectivity.

And the article by the personal trainer was the same type of self-inflated gab; these women need a cheat-partner like an alcoholic needs a bartender. Why couldn't this Richard Simmons wanna-be just get his own girlfriend, and send these women to a marriage counsellor-- particularly when he charges $150/hour, but then he claims he wasn't getting paid for sex?
Being a personal trainer myself, I can tell he's full of the same lies and self-absorbed jargon as these writers, the way he dances around facts and tries to sound intelligent-- and therefore can't maintain a relationship of his own, and therefore has to run around as a cuckolder.
There's nothing worse than a slanted writer-- or easier for an honest person to spot.
