I have to say I agree with this assessment of Fox. I think they genuinely TRY to get it right (or should I say correct). Fox seems to be the only network where articles like this are emerging, and Fox online is the only one of the majors that has a columnist like Wendy MacElroy who is so outspokenly against gender feminism.
The propensity of the media to ignore missing men is something I noticed long about the time that the Amber Alert emerged. This is a complaint that's long overdue. We should do what we can to force it further to the surface. Perhaps Glenn Sacks and Dr. Baskerville can follow-up?

This, amoung other reasons is why the "mainstream" media is threatened by FOX's existence.
FOX tends to dig up, while the "mainstream" media tends to bury.
They ("mainstream media") will bury ANYTHING male related.
Men's health, Men's issues, DV against men, Missing men, and violence against men in culture and "entertainment". FOX could do a better job but they are head and shoulders above MOST media outlets.

I'm glad it made the media. . .and even got printed.
I wonder how many people even have a clue to things like this.
The lack of concern for half the population is astounding.
Awareness sucks sometimes but things like this go un-noticed till a criticle mass becomes aware.
It's a shitty deal being male.

It seems to me that the real task at hand is that we men are going to have to start relying on each other. What I mean is that we all know how the media is poisoned against reporting on tragedies such as this one. The real issue at stake here is what are we men doing collectively to help this family find resolution? Every day that passes convinces me more and more that we have to learn how to watch each other's backs and truly get involved with finding the missing. How many here followed the link on the article page to the website paid for by Anthony's family? How many of us in the area of Poughkeepsie area, and taking an active role in looking for him? I think that if we gain some real impetus in this direction, the media will begin paying attention, and we will be able to show that it was without their help, thereby underscoring how unvalued we are, and can only rely upon ourselves? I should think that the grieving family would be grateful to know that someone cares; it really should start with us.

FOX deserves credit for covering some men's issues. And Wendy McElroy on FOX provides balance in columnists; no other media outlet has anyone like her.
But the article about missing men misses the point. Men are treated as disposable. It's no more of a story than if someone's dog ran away. Meanwhile, the anti-male media ponders how many women soldiers have died in Iraq. Women and children, women and children -- who cares about men? Let 'em go down with the ship! Dying is their natural destiny! NOT!!!
