Spiderman Found Not Guilty
posted by Scott on 01:53 PM May 14th, 2004
Men's Hour Raymond Cuttill writes "From the Men's Hour Blog: Today in London, to applause from Fathers 4 Justice supporters in the court room, Dave "Spiderman" Chick was found not guilty of causing a public nuisance when he climbed a crane last November by Tower Bridge, London and stayed there 6 days to highlight his being illegally stopped from seeing his 4 year old daughter. It emerged that the police used the road closures around the crane, which caused 2 hour plus traffic jams in central London, as a bargaining tool with Dave and didn't open them because it would weaken their case. Dave called the verdict "Common sense" and as to further protests he said "Watch this space!""

This is, indeed, wonderful news.

As for the cops, their actions were disgusting. I just wish I could say I'm surprised.

The very same. On the north side of The Tower Bridge, the Tower of London is on the left and office buildings on the right. One of them is wher the crane Dave Chick was up is. In olden days Dave could have been taken straight to the Tower. If you want to see where there's a Video here Real or Windows Media, various speeds.

That's awesome, and a perfect place for Dave Chick to have staged his protest. Another dramatic page in the history books for that place. I'm happy that things turned out better for Dave than many of the other people who've had close encounters with that place.
