New Site Helps Men with Life Struggles
posted by Adam on 02:57 PM March 12th, 2004
Web Links GeekFish writes "A story is running on Religion Journal about a website geared to helping men with men's issues. MensRefuge offers individual help for men seeking advice, who may not otherwise reach out in a non-anonymous enviornment. The site is based on Christian principles, but offers hope and advice to all men, not just Christians. Looks like they don't even allow women to post on their forums. Finally, someone reaching out to men."

I signed up too ...as a mentor. I might not have mentioned this in this forum before, but at one point in time I was a ministry candidate in the United Church of Canada and I was working off credits for a doctor of divinities degree ( in order to enter Atlantic School of Theology if you could persuade them that an angel called you on the Damascus Road you only needed five credits, all others needed a bachelor's degree) anyway at a critical point in this juncture I had a very heated discussion with the President of AST, Reverend Ed Aitken, about my concerns dealing with feminazi gauleiters arriving at AST and what trouble they would bring with them (having that experience at Mount Saint Vincent). Reverend Aitken, said that I was a relic of a bygone era and that I should reconsider becomming a minister.

A matter of months later there was a McCarthy style "sexual harrasment" purge happening at AST and Reverend Aitken said that it bore all of the hallmarks of a witch hunt. That of course put him on the same moral ground as those who deny that the holocaust happened and nothing short of his dismissal would atone for THAT sin. He committed suicide. I stood beside his closed coffin and let out a primordial scream like a Klingon....I TOLD YOU SO!!! I hope the administrators of this site find me usefull. It would be so much more meaningfull to me than wearing a dog collar and being politically correct.
