I went over my punch card ballot with a fine tooth comb checking for chad errors. I really wanted this vote to be counted more than any other I've ever cast in my life. Dr. Farrell was #120 on the ballot, and as a final step I made sure that hole #120 was cleanly punched out, and no other. At one point I literally looked at every unpunched chad on my ballot to check for bulging or dimples.
Considering the highly contested field of 135 candidates Dr. Farrell is running in, it will be very hard for him to get a decent number of votes. As I write this, it is still about two hours before the polls close in CA so it will probably be morning before "back east" gets word of the election results (unless you are a real night owl).
Believe it or not that truck sign we have all become so familiar with is still sitting on a major street in the Los Angeles area, and I'm going to leave it there until the polls close at 8 o'clock, then I'm pulling it straight in the back yard and giving the little truck a rest, doing some badly needed maintenance. I put the truck on the street this morning at 4:30 a.m.
One positive thing that has already come out this campaign is that one of the most important Men's & Father's issues authors has gotten some seriously increased name recognition. However, last night as I was wearing a Warren Farrell for Gov. T-shirt a young man asked me that same question I've heard so many times in the past two months, "Who's Warren Farrell?" As I told him, I thought, "A whole new generation, desperately needing to be aware of men's issues, is becoming aware of men's issues."
Sincerely, Ray

First, the bad news: Dr. Farrell did not win this time around. However, he did get the Men's Movement some excellent publicity and got more than a few people thinking.
Now the good news: The last minute feminist inspired dirty tricks smear against Schwarzenegger claiming he felt up some women's tits 30 years and talked dirty didn't have an inpact at all. Latest exit polls show he took the so called women's vote handily.

If those women make a claim and offer no hard evidence* to support those claims, then there is no reason to believe them.
*Hard evidence can be considered to be pictures (from cameras), video, audio recordings, and, possibly, a filed police report. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously inaccurate and can't be trusted. Also, lie detector tests shouldn't be used, they are inaccurate, too.

Don't let the count mislead you. It was low, but given the circumstances, not so bad actually. And there were many successes behind the scenes.
First, regarding the count, on election day people saw this race as extremely tight and were scared of giving their vote to a lesser-known. This was even true among men's activists. So the major candidates took the vast majority of votes, and many lesser-knowns were in the hundreds along with Warren. In fact Warren did good in certain counties, like San Diego County (46th place) and Orange County (48th place). That's out of 135 candidates.
Most importantly, tens of thousands of people heard the message for the first time. CNN aired two minutes of our fathers' rights rally and an interview with Warren (it aired several times). The National Review printed some great coverage of Warren too. He received a fair amount of radio, TV and newspaper coverage in Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, and elsewhere. Fox 11 News in L.A. aired a good interview of Warren and showed him marching with us holding signs and chanting "men's commissin now!" during one of our smaller rallies.
Also, tons of new personal connections arose as a result of this. Many more activists now know each other and many new ones arose. Warren spoke to a group of prisoners about their importance as fathers (they took his message to heart). He spoke before the Young President's Association, a powerful and exclusive group of successful young presidents of large corporations. He spoke before the Kiwanis club, several fathers' groups, and a community group hosted by Earl Ofari Hutchinson (a well-known black activist in L.A.) His website received tons of visits, 400 to a thousand per day for a period of time. And, although he lost money (as expected), two of his books (Father and Child Reunion, Women Can't Hear What Men Don't Say) rose in sales since the campaign began.
I feel the campaign was very worth it and did far more good than we know. Most of the victories in this movement are behind the scenes. We get to observe only some of them. We need to keep that in mind at all times.
Thank you again mensactivism.org for helping out with this important campaign.
Marc

Apparently there are only 526 people in California who think men's rights is an important issue.
We have a very steep hill to climb. If we of the male gender refuse to care about our own rights we deserve to be walked on.

"If we of the male gender refuse to care about our own rights we deserve to be walked on."
My thoughts exactly.
