News The government's all-encompassing war on so-called "deadbeat dads" is often simply a war on low-income and minority fathers. Nowhere is this made clearer than by the degradation, demonization and dehumanization of hard luck fathers in downtown Los Angeles' notorious "Deadbeat Dad Court." It is time for men's and father's groups to stage sitins in these dens of judicial corruption just like the group in England, Father's 4 Justice is doing with great effect.

The thing that kills me is the Bradley ammendment. You have guys that can't afford to get by because they are losing so much of their income, and can't afford a lawyer either. So they finally get a job where they make enough money to afford both -- even though they were assessed at something they couldn't afford before, now they go in and the court can't strike out the old wrongful order, and will likely just raise their present order even higher.

This is about the most screwed up, wrong, and prejudicial system I've ever had to deal with. It's the kind that tells male victims of child sexual abuse that you still have to pay to support your rapist. I hope those guys do picket it. Maybe they need to bring a little rope with them, you know?
