No more state-funded circumcision in Florida

Circumcision Anonymous User writes "The state of Florida has joined 10 other states by not providing state Medicaid funds for circumcision. You can read about the issue in The St. Petersburg Times . While circumcision is an accepted practice in many religions, in the US millions of boys are circumcised without their consent for what comes down to nothing but cosmetic reasons (since medical justifications for the procedure have long been disproven). The future sexual and psychological health of these boys is risked in what amounts to a double-standard that is still permitted by American society, and in my opinion, should be stopped."

California doesn't pay for that hypocritical procedure either. I hope one day the federal government outlaws infant mutilation entirely. I also hope US doctors learn that foreskin isn't SUPPOSED to be retractable right off the bat, and stop handing down these crackpot "phimosis" diagnoses.

This is progress, but hopefully the day will come when circumcision is only performed on males when they are old enough to make an informed decision for themselves (and hopefully this will be a rare occurrence).

Oh, god, reminding me: NOBODY ORDER A SELF-CIRCUMCISION KIT!
I just saw a picture [Clinician Review] of a guy who'd ordered one online from Korea, grossest thing I've ever seen -he's fine, though, no infection or other threatening things, just looked really bad. No amount of female whining about waxing or whatever compared to the appearance of that attempt to please someone else's opinions of good looking gentalia.

In Florida, the sexual battery of a child that causes permanent physical injury is a death penalty crime. How about some state funded prosecution of the many criminal child abusers who have sexually abused and mutilated a million male children? Why are the misandrist bigots in the femernment allowed to ignore violent crimes against children on the basis of the sex of the victims? All those sadistic criminals who have sexually abused and deliberatly maimed the sex organs of little children ought to be caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law - death penalty in Florida.
