This is an important step in making the ranks of police officers more inclusive and representative and diverse and something or rather.

In the same vein, I suggest that the requirements for entry into the NFL, NBA, and other major sports leagues be dropped so that people like myself can play. I mean, it's pretty athleticist to have only the best players in these leagues, right?

What? You want police to catch crooks? And sports teams are supposed to win games? Nobody told me about that.

Of course, this doesn't mean there are going to be more police officers. There's no extra budget here. If a women gets in, then a man doesn't. Since they can get sued if he is held to higher standards for men, this will means some sort of expensive recruitment campaign to get women in. Of course, they'll want the same pay or that will be a pay gap and they'll want the same promotions or that'll be a glass ceiling. And it won't matter if less criminals are caught, because gender equality is SO important. It could also mean more internal feminist pressure to investigate all rape and DV allegations no matter how incredible they are. When you hear stories about the police just taking notes over the phone when a burglary is reported, this doesn't bode well. The only positive is that some women police officers actually are police officers first and don't always buy the feminist line on DV etc.
