The Media I've just seen this on a mailing list I'm subscribed to, and I think you'll be interested in this. If you can help out, do so, She's prepared to give our issues a hearing in public, so click "read more/post comments" to find what she needs.

The HREOC has just knocked back an application for exclusion from the anti-discrimination legislation by the NSW Catholic Education people - who wanted to offer scholarships to attract more males into teaching.

I am looking for other examples where males have been refused exclusions i.e. where they have been seeking pro-male affirmative action but have been refused.

Also am looking for examples where permission has been given to allow positive discrimination in favour of women, particuarly in education/higher ed.

Thanks, Tina.

Letter to Tina:

Here is a student group that is concentrating on this issue, perhaps they can assist with your information search:

A cursory yahoo search of the internet yields page after page of women only scholarships... and NOT ONE site with male only scholarships. This despite the fact that female college students are in the majority (and the gap is widening).
