Whitney Houston Admits Hitting Brown. But Who Cares?

Domestic Violence Troy A. writes "In a recent much-hyped fluff interview with Whitney Houston, Diane Sawyer asks the following question: "Has [Bobby Brown] ever hit you?" Houston: "No. Never. I have hit him, in anger." [Note: this was in the video interview, not the article]. There is absolutely no follow up to this admission. It is immediately followed with a segment on Brown's risque music, drug use, accusations of affairs, etc. Later in the program Sawyer asks Brown directly if he's ever hit Houston, and his reply is given considerable inquiry and airtime. Apparently, even when a wife admits to abusing her husband, it isn't called what it is - domestic violence. In fact it's totally ignored. You can e-mail your protests via this page. On top of that, when I sent my thoughts on this via the web page, a Progressive Insurance ad popped up!"

In one of my FHM issues, the LA times gave her a chance to clear up some issues, and in response to the rumour that her man's a wife beater she said "I do the hitting, he doesn't"

Like I said, not surprising at all.

I saw the interview, and caught this as it was said.

But you might get better response if you fix the typo in the msg title "Bitting"/"Hitting".

Thx.

well, I saw the interview and thought the same thing went w. houston admitted to doing the hitting. Although, I also saw bobby brown sweating and eavesdropping nehind the camera when they were started to talk about him. I highly doubt that bobby brown is an innocent 'victim'. But it is interesting that Whitney Houston new that pointing out that it is "she" who has does the hitting would be PC, and would calm the domestic violence alarms.

No One cares, that's who. Domestic violence policy and the public relations surrounding it only care that men are punished, not women.

Feminism is the embodiment of hypocrisy...

Oh, but, don't you all see?
When a man physicaly abuses a woman, It is violence and hatred against women in general, perpetuated by the oppressive patriarchy, and an evil Male asserting dominance over the female.
On the other hand, when women are abuseive towards Men, It's "just her takein' control", and Being an "assertive woman". and "puttin' that Dog in his place!".
See, since women are "TAKEIN' OVER" Men have no right to oppose them or even defend themselves from abuseive women. We Men are supposed to simply "shut up and take it", and "lose our "power"", like the submisive males one finds in women's "romance" novels, TV soap operas, and feminist-fiction-writeing.

Yeah, well, the day I, personaly will lay down and kiss female fanny, will be when certain very warm places FREEZE OVER!
