Rethinking the Conservative View of Divorce

Fatherhood SJones writes "An article on divorce and the traditional conservative position ends with the statement that conservatives should support "joint physical custody." This is a great step in the right direction. The author even mentions vengeful ex-wives who lock fathers out of their children's lives. The article is here." The author argues that it is not divorce, but what happens to children after divorce that causes social problems. It's an interesting way of looking at this.

Good article. I believe Joint Physical Custody (the real deal, not the paper variety) is best for kids and best for society.

Obviously it would be better if people did not have to divorce. And I do think in general many people throw in the towel too quickly, but that is a separate issue.

However, there is no logical reason why two people cannot be good equal parents to their kids after divorce.
