News An anonymous user points to a finding by two Canadian academics. It turns out that the witch-hunts that occured around the 16th century were not exclusively female-oriented, as modern media suggests.

This doesn't include the number of men who were executed for their religious beliefs without being accused of being witches. As shown here (King's College -- women's history), during the reign of Queen Mary I of England "more than 300 persons were burned at the stake for heresy." One wonders what percentage of these poor souls were men.

20% of 100,000 executed witches were male. As were 95% of victims of Communist Terror in Russia and 98% of victims of Communist Terror in China. And yet we do not see gender connections in the Communist case. Also in China in 1980-s false accusations of rape were as numerous as in USA today. Out of ~35,000 men accused of rape each year, 94% were convicted. But then falsely accusing a man of rape was frequently the only escape for a woman from being convicted of premarital sex. In 1920, 40% of Soviet Communist police force was female.

If anyone wants to use a peer reviewed reference look at www.gendercide.org. There is an EXCELLENT article there that not only mentions that men were also victims of the witch burnings (the percentage varies widely, I forgot the acutal numbers). In addition it debunks several feminist quotes that mention that try to find evidence that a millon plus women were burned at the stake. I would strongly suggest anyone that is an academic male activist read this article. It will prevent broadside attacks from radfems at a later point.

Do you have a way to archive this type of information in a manner in which it can be 'referenced'?

I'd really appreciate scientifically arrived at data to be congressed in such a way for quick reference.
