Recent DV Study

News RPB659 writes in on a recent article found in Massachusetts News. The article reports on the research done by Steve Basile on domestic violence and how the facts don't match up with commonly held beliefs.
Basile found that female defendants were just as abusive as male defendants in terms of both physical and psychological aggression. The results fly in the face of feminist orthodoxy on which the domestic violence industry has been built.

"Domestic violence is time and time again painted exclusively as something male batterers do to their innocent female victims," said Basile. "Our laws, policies and practices unfortunately reflect this myth."

"The intense pressure forced the Gardner researchers to shut down a planned third phase of the research initiative, which involved a phone survey of litigants. The researchers intended to query both plaintiffs and defendants regarding their overall satisfaction with the process, if they felt the protection orders reduced or escalated tensions, to determine who initiated attacks, as well as other key characteristics not found in the official court record."

These judicierys don't want to go into the details of what agrivates what. I have no degree in anything other than life expereince but I can tell you I have been saying that these laws are whats creating the main hostility.

Duh! Women are being murdered because the system is denying men their rights. The law is supposed to ba based on equal and fair rights so that it doesnt create more crime. They failed at this miserably and ultimately they are the ones to blame. I guess if I were them I too would be trying to shut down any research that was going to prove such.

Exactly, Dan. Exactly.
And the amazeing thing is, is that you have to EXPLAIN this to too MANY people. What's worse is when you have to explain it to people who are SUPPOSED to all ready KNOW it!
That's not only amazeing but very un-settleing, as well.

Yes, they do. As a man, the best you can do is plead guilty (when you are not) and throw yourself at the mercy of the system.

Many women will use DV laws as a means of getting a vindictive upper hand in family courts. That is... if the man is even free after the false allegations of abuse have been trumped up.

This is an important scholarly study. Are there any more specific details on the availability to the public domain?
