Let's Show Our Support for Wendy McElroy
posted by Scott on Friday July 05, @08:52AM

News frank h writes "Wendy McElroy has apparently been drawing some blood among the NOW gang, as evidenced by their latest invective here. Wendy has been an ardent supporter of men's rights and one of few who have been willing to speak out AND who have a forum from which to do so. She needs our support as we need hers. Now would be the time to write to the folks at Fox AND to the LA Times, the Sacremento Bee, and whatever the big papers in San Francisco are. This is clearly an organized attack designed to discredit Wendy in the same manner in which Warren Farrell and others have been attacked. We cannot let it succeed."

Thank you very much for your efforts in supporting Men's Rights which are, in reality, the rights of all individuals.

The last couple of barrages thrown at Wendy have been utterly despicable. McElroy is a decent, intelligent, and civil woman of very high principle. That CA NOW and their cronies would attempt to smear her as a lover of pedophiles and batterers, to say nothing of their horrendous representation of the father's rights collective, is just despicable. This is not to say that it is unexpected, though.

The good news in all of this is that she has one thing going for her: every day experience. The version of reality she presents will ring true for so many more people than that presented by CA NOW that most observers will see the argument for what it is. Let's hope so.

Here is a commentary e-mail address at fox, I don't know if its the best place to send to or not.
comments@foxnews.com

If anyone can get addresses for the others etc..

We have to be careful not to go un-noticed at this point. Wendy is right, we have to send in letters to Fox.news big time. Try and get as many people you can to send letters, even from people who are half way about it. They don't have to lie, but they can certainly say they would like to hear 'both' sides of the story in a fair and unbiased approach.

Thanks, Wendy. You are one of the most balanced, well-reasoned writers on gender issues that I have ever had the pleasure to support. I am excited to write to Fox news on your behalf. Please continue to be a leader to all those who seek true gender equality.

It seems to me that it would be helpful to have a page of links to all the news and other entities that we can write to. This would allow us to increase our activism in important areas. This is how the feminist organizations gained their political power and it is how we can gain political clout as well. A united voice is heard much more than any single voice. ALSO while email is very useful for a quick responce I have been told by politicians the impact of a hand written letter is enormous. Just a thought.

Brilliant, Tony. But I hate politicians, honestly they let everyone else do the work, and wait for the biggest dog to bark. I would like to put some heat on their seats.

But in the mean time, don't forget your neighbor, your friend, your cousin. We will have to find new ways to get our message across to those that are not ready to hear. Trying to find ways to slip in our 'plight' such as between sips of beer "ya, like men get a fair shake in court" making it sarcastic. If it leads somewhere than , hey, if not, the sound bite was made.

Personally I think men's activism can supercede even this gender problem onto other problems aswell. Problems that men face such as racial harmony (or lack of) etc...

We are good men, all of us. Good things will come to us because of the good things we put out there. Lets stay on track, lets stay honest, lets stay friends.

One of the tips I once received about sending news releases: don't use email. Don't use the post office. Send a fax, instead. They get lots more attention in news organizations.

I wouldn't worry too much about what these dysfunctional, emotionally-deficient feminazi are accusing Wendy and the Men's Movement of.

That they are resorting to dishing out verbal shit and personal insults means they are losing the argument as they have nothing constructive to give anymore, and shows them up as the immature non-women they really are.

Go get 'em Wend!

As Wendy herself put it in her March 12 column, "The politics of rage will scream all the louder because it sees that no one is listening." Rage is screaming furiously in California today.

Wendy's column on the California NOW "Family Court Report" calls it what it is: propaganda with a blatant political agenda and devoid of supporting data.

Wendy is a voice for gender justice and common sense in a society largely duped by PC gender feminism. If NOW and their ilk didn't feel threatened by her, then they would ignore her. Their attack is a clear indication that they feel threatened - they're afraid that Wendy will open more people's eyes.

Thank you, Wendy, for standing up to these practitioners of the politics of rage. Your courage is an inspiration. Keep up the outstanding work.
