from the men's-health dept.
Men's Health Men's Health America writes, "National Men’s Health Week, an effort to highlight the needs and disparities of men’s health, has now gone international. Beginning this year, Men’s Health America will describe Men’s Health Week as “International Men’s Health Week.” Men’s health organizations in the United States, Canada, England, and Australia will be participating in the event. The international scope of men’s health was highlighted this past November, when the First World Congress on Men's Health was convened in Vienna, Austria. The dates of this year’s International Men’s Health Week will be June 10-16. These dates are designed to culminate in Father’s Day on June 16."

Someone had mentioned the need to lobby for the U.S. Federal Government to establish an office of men's health to counter the billions of dollars going exclusively to women's health issues. Whatever happened to that? I think we need to get involved. Men's health is lagging far behind women's health and the research being done is almost excusively female-only now. We have entire hospitals in every city for women only. Never has such a blatantly sexist system existed for men. It's time to pressure the government to fund men's health.

Yes, the Men's Health Act is still in the House of Representatives and there are now 88 Representatives who have signed onto it. They need people to write and call their Representatives and ask them to sign on if they haven't already. Read about it at
