Advice to Fathers: Avoid Court When Possible

	ronn pointed us to this story from the Ottawa Citizen. Dave Brown writes about the experiences of fathers in the family court system, and finds that for most fathers, you're better off avoiding going to court when it's at all possible: "The best way to deal with the legal industry is to avoid it. It should not be regarded as a justice system. It is an industry that provides incomes for its insiders and, as an industry, its raw material is us." Until the family courts regain a semblance of fairness, I have to admit that he's right.

I attended a local political parties fuction (you can guess which) while a friend who is running for office addressed the issues of family court. He was literally attacked for suggesting the courts were unfair and for questioning the validity of revolking a mans business or driver's license when he was unable to pay the court ordered support. Sadly, the only way we are going to see meaningful change in the family courts is through relentless assults on the courts and our elected officials (maybe some civil disobedience) greater then that of the whining idiots that feed on entitlement programs. I'm personally sick and damn tired of reading and hearing about men losing their lives and being forced to live in poverty because of the barbaric and greed driven divorce industry. Gov't intervention is bad (Score:1) by Claire4Liberty on Monday January 14, @02:48PM EST (#2) (User #239 Info) It's my opinion that Family Court often turns what would have been amicable divorces into bitter ones. I really think that a lot of people go into a divorce willing to work with each other, until lawyers convince them that it's in their and the childrens' "best interest" to turn the proceedings into a slugfest. I also think a lot of people supposedly locked in bitter divorces would work with each other if they were forced to do so. I want Family Court gone altogether. Until then, perhaps divorcing couples should be forced into mediation before they are allowed to set foot in a courtroom. They should not be permitted to let a judge set terms for them until they have exhausted all attempts to do it themselves.

Family law is not the only thing that lawyers manipulate in order to drum up profits. Look at personal injury, malpractice, criminal law, and tax law. One of my favorite rants is the obtuse and confusing tax laws. No two accounts can get the same results, meaning that if you make any money, you need to have a lawyer who can prove your innocence to the IRS. With all the clout that the American Bar Assn has in congress, is it any wonder why real tax reform doen't get passed? In an institution dominated by lawyers (albeit not all tax attys). Anyway, the law industry has a vested interest in extending legal proceedings as much as possible, as that is how they make money. And we have to leave it up to them to correct themselves. What a joke.

Running is often the ONLY choice for a male. That is wrong, that is sickening and moreover it ensures abusive women retain their control over children.
