News Neil Steyskal sent in the following story from USA Today which was so strongly biased with gender politics that the Men's Health America campaign reopened just to urge people to respond to this article. Comment to: editor@usatoday.com.

You know the BIG, BIG, BIG problem with this story is that it's presented (at least on the Web site) as a *news* piece. It is obviously an *opinion* piece. If you don't think so, look at the explanation at the bottom of the article as to the writer's actual occupation.

Dear Editors,

You Dec. 12 article "Effective aid considers women's special needs" perpetuates continuing ignorance of real life in Afganistan. Men get dragooned into armies, men get killed, men wander around dazed and alienated, and you publish articles about "women's special needs", as if no one has ever noticed Afgan women.

If you ever read a newspaper, you would know that the situation is exactly the opposite. Much has been written about the plight of Afgan women, and nothing has been written about Afgan men. Is this because you regard men as worthless and disposable?

Afgan women think about Afgan men's special needs. You should follow their enlightened lead.

Regards,
H. Smith
