Ford Discriminating Against White Men
posted by Adam on Thursday October 11, @06:00PM
from the inequality/double-standards dept.
Inequality More "Positive Discrimination" against White Men (the only group discrimination is positive against it seems) To quote Ford "Action include delaying the hiring, promotion and referral of white males unless there is a good business case to bring them in before year end. Actions also include the pulling ahead of any promotions, upgrades, referral etc of non-white males. " notice how they say "white males" to deny them basic humanity as much as possible. Don't forget to go here to see for yourself. Terms such as "terrorized by tolerance" and "silenced by sensitivity" spring to mind....

Haven't heard from Ford in a while

This is really interesting to me considering that Ford stated earlier this year they were changing their discriminatory promotion/termination practices as a result of discrimination lawsuits filed largely by white men. Apparently, they lied.

Btw, most of the news articles I read about the Ford controversy claimed the men were filing "reverse discrimination" charges. There's no such thing as "reverse" or even "positive" discrimination.

Discrimination is discrimination is discrimination.

In addition, Ford's Website states, "As part of our ongoing commitment to breast cancer research and public awareness, Ford Division has been proud sponsor of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation's Race for the CureŽ since 1995. Over the course of our sponsorship we have donated more than $48 million to the Foundation in sponsorship fees, media support and in-kind gifts. But financial donations comprise only a small part of Ford Division's initiative in the fight against breast cancer."

Needless to say, a search of their site turned up nothing about prostate cancer.

Does anyone know of any small ticket items produced by Ford, or its subsidiaries, that we can boycott?

I sent the following to their investor relations people:

It has come to my attention that Ford Motor Co. maintains a policy of discriminating against the promotion of men based on both the fact that they are male and their skin color. As a result of these acts of blatant and evil discrimination, I will never buy another product manufactured by Ford Motor Co. or any of its subsidiaries. I considered boycotting Ford when it refused to accept any responsibility whatsoever in the Firestone tire fiasco. Now I'm positive that this original American company we all once trusted has become a source of lies, bigotry, and hatred.

You should also be aware that you are slapping a large number of your customers in the face with these policies.

FYI, there is no such thing as "reverse" or "positive" discrimination. Discrimination is discrimination, and if it's based on sex, race, or religion, it's wrong.
