False Accusations Andrew sent in this article from Canada's National Post, which should be very useful for people researching false accusations of sexual assault. The article includes many good stats and quotes from Canadian police departments, and also explains the very touchy issue of why a woman might make a false accusation, including cases where "the system" continues to prosecute a man long after it has been discovered that the accusation is false or unfounded.

I can't remember where I posted it, but I made similar connections to many race riots throughout the 20th century that started with false aligations of rape by some unknown black man. This was echoed nicely in this article. Who could even ponder the number of men who have died because of women like this?

I didn't attempt to do the math, but if we gave the questionable cases where they couldn't prove she was lying a catagory of their own, I think we'd see some real damning number, not that the ones in this article aren't damning enough.

It's particularly disturbing that so many men are falsely accused. We have on our hands, a clear epidemic that destroys the lives of men and allows women to get away with murder. Each man once placed under the light of rape charges rarely recovers from it's effects.

In order for us to see real justice, the law must provide harsh punishment on those who are proven to have made false aligations. Restitution and jail time are a must as well as publicly recanting of the aligations. The punishment should equal any time served by the falsely accused and more.

We should have a public database of serial accusers so these people can't move to other areas and make similar claims. Does anyone wonder why they were burning witches at the stake? I don't.
